they did say, the R was 130 lbs lighter.
Curious what configurations the used for weights.
IIRC, when the R was announced at NAIAS it was stated the R was 130 lbs lighter than the GT350 with the track package.

It's pretty shit that you have to lose the Recaros if you want the tech package. I really wonder WTF Ford is thinking with the optioning strategies for the GT and GT350...

Depending on how much more the tech pack power seats weigh, as compared to the Recaros, the track pack might actually be slightly heavier, once you factor in the weight of the heat exchangers, pumps, and extra oil for the engine, transmission, and diff coolers.
Agreed. They need keep certain things as packages but more free standing options, similar to the 13-14 GT500s. I ultimately want a 900A car with 60T but I want sync 3 as well on the full screen. Unless I get the Tech pack or the R w/ electronics, I am SOL. Rather not go for Tech because I want the raised decklid wing, cooling and recaro seats.

Essentially the same as me, then; a track pack car with the upgraded infotainment system sounds perfect. I don't need dual-zone climate controls, power seats, or any of that jazz.

I'd like an R with just AC, don't want any other electronics, no Nav or Sync

I guess I'm going to go for 920A w/67S, don't really want sync, camera, & navigation, but must have AC in VA

I'm probably going for the 900A W/67T since the car will be my daily driver.

Has anyone tried calling the ford performance hotline at the bottom of the add?

While your train of thought is good, I think the diff cooler will be more like the 14 GT500 PP. that finned cover you showed, plus the lines, pump and heat exchanger.

After some thought, I may order a Track Pack. I've never used the Nav in my current car. And because Recaro.
Marc is right. If they say diff cooler they mean an actually cooler not a finned cover. It will include lines, pump, etc. BUT it is still a relatively easy retrofit. Hundreds of racers have done this with Ford and non-Ford aftermarket parts for many years.

As for the tranny cooler you don't have to have an internal pump to move the fluid. You could add your own just like the diff cooler. Just pull fluid from the drain plug, cool it and pump it back in through the fill plug. Same thing with the oil cooler. That's why we have the aftermarket.

Wonder if the aftermarket will offer a nine inch diff like they did for the camaro? I mean it is a Ford diff. Right?

I would get the GT350 with tech pack, then buy the track pack spoiler and slap it. I really love that spoiler.

Why would you want a 9inch diff for a car made for road racing? If by 9inch you meant a normal axle diff used for drag.

The 8.8 chunk is a very strong unit. No need to go to 9". 9" just happens to be the standard for non mustang folks to upgrade to. No reason as it wouldn't be an upgrade but a lateral move with no gain in strength.
