Sport Mode question on GT

When shifted into "S", but NOT using the manual shift my transmission seems to redline in low gear.......is that normal?
Out today on some back roads, from a stop full throttle ahead.........and first gear red lines all the way to cut-off briefly.........seems odd.

I drive a manual but from what I have gathered the AT in sport will go to redding so that you have shift control with the paddles and can hold gears as long as you want.

Yes, but "S" operates without manual shift also.......just like a higher RPM auto.

I didn't say it's not. But if it shifted at 6000 or 6500 by itself some people would be mad they can't take it to red line.

No, once you cut off the engine it defaults to normal.
Unless someone came up with a workaround yet?

Several threads on this already. By law all traction control and everything must default to normal operation upon each engine start. (I assume you mean sport driving mode toggle switch not sport shifting mode on the fear shifter.)

So being able to have in "S" (not "S+" toggle switch) and in auto mode (not manual) the engine will redline........got it.

At WOT yes it will red line. If you back off the throttle slightly near red line if you absolutely refuse to use the paddles it will shift earlier.

I did a search and didn't see anything. I guess I was more interested in keeping the sport steering engaged at all times. I don't have the auto

Sport steering should stay all the time. I also have a manual so I was referencing the Sport+ toggle switch mode in my previous post.
