That is one of the ugliest things I have ever seen. The interior is alright, but that exterior...I think I just threw up a little bit.

The reasons I didn't consider a 2015 Camaro were the awful interior (hopefully they fixed that) and the awful visibility (which they seemingly made worse). Good luck changing lanes in heavy traffic in that.

it looks no different from the outgoing model, passing them on the street you couldn't tell them apart. they copied the four banger turbo, and the color changing interior lights. Hell even the lines of the car are copied. You go ahead and jump ship. nothing like having a copy of the original, its like buying some cheap Chinese knockoff

The new Camaro makes the Mustang look far better.

Not impressed with the new Camaro. I like it but not in love with it. I will have to see one in person. Just like the Mustang i liked it except the front end and now i really like the front end. The only 15 or 16 Mustang model with more power is the EB over the Camaro's 4 cyl turbo. Come on Ford step up your A game!!!

Looks like a fat chick inside and out.

You'll want to wait on the weight call out until they officially release the specs. If you remember, ford said the new mustang would be lighter and it wasn't. Just saying.

Thoughts?

2016 Camaro SS not worried about the 5 yes 5 other power trains they have.

455 hp and 455 torque in a 3700 pound car....200 pd diet from past gen

I hate to say it but I might be jumping ship.

In addition to that the interior is amazing and the exterior isn't bad. The rear looks 2015
mustang GTish.

You honestly believe that car weighs 3700lbs? Might want to wait for the official weight information to be released l funny they released everything but the weight, huh?

Enjoy your Camaro. Sounds like your are the bench racer/ magazine racer. Go get a tune on your GT and pickup 22rwhp and more rwtq. Stupid to sell your car but that is just my opinion.

You do realize that that claimed weight loss is more than likely for the 4 cylinder. I bet the SS weighs more than the GT. Looks are subjective but I think that we can agree that the rear end doesn't belong. The interior is an improvement but not better than the Mustang's. The only thing the Camaro has going for it is that LT1.

C - ya

If you got the cash to just buy a new car based on 20 HP have fun. in real world conditions, 20 HP and 200 pounds means nothing.

Unless you are Vin Diesel and you "live your life a 1.4 mile at a time", numbers like that are meaningless.

I buy a car for looks, how it rides, and the emotions it gives me. Not to say I have 20 more HP then the guy in the lane next to me.

Bingo! :first:

The fear in the "vs." thread is kinda sad based on some vague crap spewed by GM without knowing weight, gear ratio, and all that other really important stuff for even a start to a head to head.

More unconfirmed rumors, 2.0L turbo 4 as base, 440hp LT1 for the SS
At least the Chevy guys made the four the base engine. Ford cheaped out and made their four and V6 Mustangs too close to each other in performance and fuel economy. Then on top of that, they are charging a price premium for the four.

With the 2016 Mustang offering only cosmetic changes (and most of them stupid stuff), Ford has essentially pulled over to the curb for a smoke break, allowing Chevy to close the gap on them.

As for the Camaro itself, it's an improvement over the previous generation. Appears to offer better visibility out the front than the ridiculous slits the 5th gen has. The rear is clean looking, but boring. Side view is...meh. Don't like the way the designers handled the rear quarter glass area. They just scream, "Blind spot!"

The interior seems to be greatly improved, but that's not saying much. The 5th gen was horrible inside. But those interior door panels! What planet are those from? I do like the instrument pod. Huge improvement over Gen 5.

We will just have to wait and see if the new Camaro really is 200 pounds lighter. Ford's similar claim turned out to be a bit of a stretch.

FoMoCo is really going to have to step things up for the 2017 Mustang and offer up some real engineering advancements. Turn signals in the hood is their way of saying, "We're just going to rest on our laurels for a model year and allow Camaro to catch up.

I think we've all known for awhile that the basic lines of the redesign are, less than arguably, little more than recycled. Refined, if we're being charitable.

But, to be candid, seeing it without any camouflage, I can't tell if it wants to be a coupe...or a hatchback. The rearend is just confused.

Interior is okay. If you can get around the dated Tron lighting effects and that open desolate range situated in front of the passenger seat. Interesting that the designers gave virtually no nods to the car's heritage with that interior.

It's a nice car, the interior gets me... But then I look at the exterior and it kills it.

I will give them this, they are going to destroy us performance wise until ford responds with the 17MY.
Destroy? That's a bold word. BTW, what is going to happen in 2017?

I dunno, I'm getting old but the current performance of the PP car, in particular, is about all I care for on the street. In fact, it's potential can't really be realized on the street.

And I'm not talking about straight line performance which is fun, but not where the real fun really is, for me at least. I know some of you live in areas where the only real curves are on cloverleafs.

The Camaro's performance can't be denied, and I'm sure this one will be even better. I just could not live with that driving position/interior. It's like sitting in a tank...I guess, I've never actually been in a tank!

One main reason I didn't get a camaro was the horrid visibility inside. I would wait to test drive one before you 'jump ship'

I could possibly weigh 3700lbs. According to Chevrolet 200lbs is the minimum weight lost on the new car. The 5th Gen 2SS weighed around 3900lbs, so 3700 is definitely not impossible.

Chevrolet said:
Vehicle mass has been reduced by 200 pounds or more, depending on the model, creating a more nimble, responsive driving experience
The fact that the 275hp Turbo 4 can hit 60mph in under 6s, despite being 35hp down on the EcoBoost that does the same sprint in about 5.8s, shows that it is genuinely lighter or its powered by unicorn farts.

The LT1 has 617Nm of Torque, the Coyote has 542Nm, and the LGX V6 is far more potent, too. Throw in the 8-speed auto and a rev matching 6-speed manual and you have a very potent package (on paper, at least).

Appearances aside, it'll be a fast car. Ford needs to step up their game and get a better automatic transmission in the S550 and some more power from the engines. As much as people are sitting here throwing their best zingers at the Camaro, Ford will be sending about 20 tonnes of caffeine and overtime requests to their Engineers to get the Mustang on some steroids.

That's just my 2cents on the subject.

We actually know everything except weight.

http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/camaro/2016.tab1.html

Final gear ratio for the manual cars is 3.73 for the V8 and 3.27 for the i4 and V6. The Automatic is 2.77 for the V8 and V6 and 3.27 for the i4.
