Yep, the view from the rear really makes it look like a TC. Chevy failed hard on styling this one imho. How did they go from the awesomesauce that was the Transformers reveal to this 10 years later?

GM Stated that the new Camaro is 90ks (200lbs) lighter than the 5th Gen. So you're looking at around 1600kgs instead of 1700kgs.

I think this is more an under-the-skin deal. The 5th gen is, what, 5 years old now? By this point we'd be getting mid cycle refreshes, not a new model generation. So I take the Gen5 styling with a pinch of salt.



Corvette Engine and it weighs less than a Mustang. Throw in the ATS underpinnings and Ford should be worried.

The Mustang wins on styling by far. But mechanically I think we may get a surprise.

Edit: And yes, that hood shut-line confuses me. It would look 100% better at the front if it was a clamshell.

Perhaps your right. Well see soon enough what cards Chevy has under the sleeve.

UPDATE: Apparently CNBC screwed up. The test-drive of the new LGX V6 got pulled part-way through! :lol:

Me thinks General Motors had a heart attack since it was supposed to be released tomorrow. :lol:

I do like the nods to the Corvette, and anything to keep the other Muscle Cars on their toes is welcomed. I need a better photo of the front, though. The potato quality images I'm seeing don't really show enough for me to judge it properly. The interior was also still camouflaged in the brief moments it was on TV. How strange.

I was never a fan of the last gen Camaro's. They looked to have the worst blind spots ever created and the inside of them always screamed "econo rental" to me. This new Camaro somehow defies how bad I hated the last gen Camaro's. It's hideous and looks even more cheap! What is up with that hood line? It reminds me of my toilet seat lid.
