Let me start off by saying i am in no way trying to v6 bash. I really would like to understand why one would spend thousands trying to bring a v6 to the power level of a v8? Please educate this motorhead. I grew up on v8s sorry
I think it just has to do with the mod bug and it probably applies to people who buy V8 also. You can be over the moon for the first few months of whatever car you have but suddenly you want more.

But I do agree with you that if you think you're ever gonna want 400+ horsepower might as well get the GT from the start.

But from the looks of it these turbo kits can make well over GT power, so there's that too. But then you have to worry about engine internals, etc...

In any case I love viewing this stuff from the sideline.

GTs are running high 12s stock so that's a bit inaccurate

With that said, I expect/hope to be in stock GT territory next time I'm at the track ;)

As I already posted in another thread a while back, in Canada the Mustang GT starts at $38000 whereas a V6 can be had for nearly $25000. That's $13000 to play with. A turbo kit around $5000 + $1000 for ecu and add ons + $1000 of extras and labour and you have a machine that will CRUSH a V8 for around $7000-$8000. That leaves $5000 in the bank. I did say CRUSH. A turbo V6 with the proper tires can pull 11's (as seen in my video) whereas a V8 can hardly pull 13 flat. No contest...
Valid point. Down here in texas theres only about a $5000 diffterence in price.

$21,700 for my 051A package V6 (MSRP $25,600) which is probably one of the cheapest S550 sold. I couldn't get a deal on a manual GT for under $30k. I'm sure they are out there but I couldn't find one. In the end, the extra hp wasn't worth $8k+ to me.

Insurance premium was the reason I didn't go with a V8. It would almost triple from the current 230 that i'm paying. another car payment, no thanks.

My personal reason that I'd spend +8k on a mods for a V6 is a mixture of the mod bug and because it still stands out a bit too. When you look at the numbers, 3.7 Mustangs with FI is still outdone by 5.0's with FI. But when you do find one, like the Stang in the video, it's a beast and can put down unexpectedly.
I guess it comes down to the novelty of surprise is what I like.

ehh with a professional behind the wheel, At local tracks they do 13.5 best, and while at the American Muscle event watching 40 of them make passes possibly 3-4 went below 13 because they were so modded, shit that one 15 gt did 14 flat.

The new v6 runs 13.8 based on pros driving, and like others have said the coyote motor pushes 380 ish to the wheels, v6 mustang have been putting 430-470ish to the wheels FI kinda a big gap if you ask me i paid 25000 for mine plus 8000 wld be still less than a gt.

I don't understand why guys put huge rims and lift kits on mustangs. But people have the right do whatever they want with their $$ and their car. :headbang::headbang:
That poor Mustang:barf:

This is one of those cases where if it were a child and not a car, Social services would be taking it away.
