Is there, or has anyone came up with a solution for closing the truck without having to touch the trunk? I was thinking of trying to install a pull tab into one of the clips for the truck lid liner. However, access doesn't seem easy even when taking off the middle black section. The finger prints on the paint, or black section are driving me nuts.

Well, if you don't want finger prints, carry a small microfiber or glasses cleaning rag in your pocket. There is no way to avoid touching it to shut it so the OCD may just have to suffer haha

I have the 50th Anniversary appearance pack, so I close it using the fake gas cap...no fingerprints.

Keep a microfiber in the driver's side door compartment.

Evidently Ford Racing had a carbon fiber decklid panel at SEMA...would solve all of our problems.

I used to close mine by pushing the GT emblem. But now I have the ford racing panel with no emblem. :(

Vinyl stripes. Now I can put my hand on those and no fingerprints.

Ditto. I want to know why it takes slamming it to get it to shut.

May want to have yours checked out. Mine doesn't require any slamming to shut and latch properly. Most of the time I use very little effort actually.
