Like another member, I have my dashboard bubbling. It's only the passenger side dash pad, right on the corner toward the center. Took it into Ford this morning, they took pictures and now I'm just waiting for them to call me back on what Ford wants to do.

I'll keep everyone updated.

I hope I'm wrong but at some point I looked up the parts diagram for the dash and it sure looked like the eyebrows were part of the actual dash panel, meaning the dealer would have to remove the entire dash assembly to replace it. Every. Single. Thing. That scares the living hell out of me... can you imagine how many rattles??? :eyebulge: I'd probably just have to live with it.

Oh man. Well when my dealer calls tomorrow I'll ask them what's involved in replacing it. If it's that involved I may not go through with it. Hopefully it's not too labor intensive.

Update on this.

Dealer called back today, and Ford is approving it. They need to pull the entire dash to replace it, and she even told
me the part is super expensive all on its own. So I'm gonna bite the bullet and have them replace it. Have to keep the car overnight for them to do it. I just want it done the right way.

Can you snap a pic of the bubbling so we can benefit from knowing what it looks like?

Sure.

You can see that after I flatten it you can still see the wrinkle on the material.

It may be only one bubble, but who knows when it might spread? What if the drivers side starts doing it? I don't want my car that's not even a year old to have a bubbling dash. I park my car outside. My last car was parked outside in the hot sun for the three years I've had it and I never had an issue with the plastics fading, cracking, or bubbling.

Glad you are getting it fixed. Hopefully they do a great job and no noises come about:cheers:

That's the only thing I'm worried about. I have some really tiny rattles here and there and the infamous headlight switch rattle but the inside is relatively sound. If so, I'd like to meet the tech who's doing the replacement beforehand to see how much experience he has doing something like this. Not that I would be doubting his experience, I'd just like to know for my own peace of mind.

Just updating this. I dropped the car off to get the dash repaired, as well as the brake TSB and my intercooler pipes (i think they're loose).

Ill update everyone when i get the car back.

Called the dealership earlier to get a status on my car.

"We need more time"

So I'm stuck in this rental F150 till Friday.

I want the tech to take his time and do a good job.

But I want my car back [emoji22][emoji22][emoji22]

it appears that some members are having the same issue i am with the bubbling dashboard. After some research, i found out what part it is that they are replacing.

I have attached two photos of the part. the part # is 04320, and it is the green dash shell.

The two pads, according to the illustration, is built into the SHELL OF THE DASH. The tech has to disassemble everything related to the dash just to change those two pads.

I decided to take the chance because i didn't want the other side to start and then eventually spread. So lets see how it goes.

When my son worked at a dealership he was the dedicated dash remover guy because he always got them back together rattle free. He actually enjoyed the challenge. I've pulled many dashes out over the years with rattle free results. Just got to pay attention to the details. Hopefully they take good care of your car.

He had to pull the whole dash out of a new truck to fix a water leak that 3 other dealerships tried & failed. He found a bad factory seam, fixed and apparently completed the job too quickly & too well. The customer got mad because his truck didn't look like it had been touched & thought my son was lying but the truck never went back in to any dealerships for a water leak.

Yeah hopefully they do a good job. What's the chances of them flying in a tech from Dearborn? Haha

That is INSANE that those aren't separate pieces attached to the dash panel itself.

Wow.....
