It's not often that I get complements on the GT, but on the way home Friday I was at a traffic light waiting with the windows down and radio turned up. Heard something in the Explorer next to me. Turned down the radio, looked over and said "pardon me?" and driving the Explorer was a lady in her late '60's, early'70's with long straggly gray hair, "Oh honey, that is one beautiful car you have there!!" Thanked her and drove on....
Stopped at O'Reilly's Auto for something, and as I was leaving a lowered Lexus with an aftermarket exhaust (done nicely, not a fart can muffler welded on factory pipes) is stalking me as I'm approaching the GT. It was a younger guy that was apparently a local mechanic since he had his ASE certifications all up and down his sleeve. He too was going ape shit over the car.
I have to admit, Friday was the first time I got that "beg head" feeling over my car in the almost 6 months I have owned it. Funny thing was, it was as dirty as could be! Hadn't washed it in over a month due to all the rain/cold weather and being out of town.
