I just read in the MCA magazine that Ford had dual horns in the 2018 Mustangs but has gone to a single horn for 2019 / 20. The single sound like a cheap import the article says and the writer checked out several cars and all the 2019s had one horn. He ordered the dual set at a Ford dealer for around $30 and did the install. How much could they save with this decontenting?

The single horn reminds me of a circus clown! I installed the dual horns and I'm much happier with it. The install takes some dexterity if you do it without removing any other parts but it can be done with patience...

My 19 had the single horn. Switched it out with the dual. Quite an easy process. I was able to get to it easily by removing the air box and going from the top.

Not only are they saving a fortune by eliminating the second horn they are making a bundle on the sales of the two horn kit. :giggle:

Only Ford knows what they are saving. Honestly I don’t care. I now have two horns.

Simple solution: don't use your horn (I don't even know what mine sounds like). Use your finger instead.
I was going to say this but realized I hear it every time I like the car. But seriously, it's a horn. Every time I've seen this pop up I've wondered why it makes a difference. You'd think the tone of the horn directly correlated to dick size.

One could say the exact same think about our exhausts. Seriously though I think it has more to do with Ford dicking us off more than anything else.

Lol ... I have no idea if I have one or two horns. The only time I hear it is when I hit the fab to lock the car up when I walk away.

It sounds like a horn btw.

I get that. You can also say the same about having a v8, a lifted truck, and so on. But it's a horn... if it's not the sound and just the thought that Ford is screwing people over, then there's a different way to look at it. These are mass produced vehicles that are nearing and surpassing performance levels of vehicles that are twice the cost. Some corners need to be cut as a result. The gen 3 most definitely costs ford more money than the gen 2, so there was probably some attempts to offset that. Even the rev matching feature in the 2019 MY would put the cost a bit higher than the 2018 MY. A $10 (for ford) horn may not seem like much from a consumer level, but 60k vehicles later, that adds up.

If it's about the horn sounding dinky then... I don't know, I just find that silly.

You can also ajdust your single factory horn to make it louder. Screw behind the white silicon.
