May I ask why?

Weight difference is about 3lbs, to me that's negligible for a guy that doesn't compete. Plus vibration issues with aluminum DS's nowadays are very few and far between.

it all depends on what you want.

if you have the $$, the carbon fiber is the lightest possible, every pound of rotational weight is like 10lbs of fixed weight.

it really comes down to budget and goals. if you have the $, carbon fiber is nice, if you don't the alum will do the job well

We run DSS on all of our project cars. We've always used the aluminum ones but do sell a lot of the CF ones as well.

We've got aluminum shafts here in stock so if anyone needs one give us a shout and it will ship the same day you order.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Jared

I am pretty sure Sam @ Coastal has some "rough" data on ET improvement with a 1-piece aluminum shaft. He has raced his '15 a lot, before and after most mods and I think he said he had picked up a little with the 1-Pc Aluminum shaft.

im assuming the half shafts in auto cars would last much much much longer.
I would still put at least 800hp units to be safe. If you're up on a higher stall converter and 2 step and drop the hammer at 4 grand on sticky tires...auto or no you're going to shock that rear end.

If it were me I would put in the FRPP halfshafts and the BMR subframe bushings and get it out of the way early :)

dss is a very standup group,
No doubt!
They shafts are rated to 900 HP(not sure if that is at the crank or wheels) so I may have exceeded that and they still warrantied it, twice.
I will probably get their aluminum one eventually for my manual car at least.
I am going to see how the stock one holds up on the automatic.
I already ordered the 800 HP half shafts and will use that on the auto. I may need to do the 1400 HP or the Ford racing ones on the manual

That's exactly what we did. No point in spending all that money and time to go fast just to bust a halfshaft your first launch at the track.

It's good insurance and gives peace of mind as well.

DSS is taking forever to get me my CF shaft. Might've gone aluminum just to get it in the car if it's in stock.
