black trim fading/turning white

Anyone notice that there black trim on the premium gts start to fade or turn white? I know I left some leftover wax residue on some pieces which may have caused this...is there anyway to fix this?

Turtle Wax or any other brand trim restorer will do the job for you! They even sell it in wallmart!

How a proper detailer would fix this. Clean with a mild degreaser, then follow up with a ipa mix (rubbing alcohol and distilled water) wipe down. Then follow up with a new age sealant last like jet seal or menzerna powerlock. Although these are used like waxes they will not stain your black trim. They will protect it. You could also treat it with aerospace 303. The best option would be to do the initial 2 steps then treat it with cquartz dlux. If you don't do the initial 2 steps all you are doing is covering up the wax stain. Back to black(and similar products) is made for old faded plastic, not an almost new car. Don't put that greasy stuff on your almost new car. Clean the wax off properly then protect it properly.

I'm not really a fan of this product. It didn't last very long when used on my S197.

A good "tire black" product works very well on black plastics.

I just use a wax that won't mess up the trim, it's such a pain in the ass to avoid the trim. Meguiar's liquid wax

A toothbrush will take it right off the plastic without anything else.

Use a masking tape next time to cover the area you want to protect... avoid the issue.
