Ordering 2015 GT, PP, 401a - Looking for advice on options

Hi Everyone, loved my Mustang back in the day, really love the new design.

Going to order very soon, fully loaded every option minus 50 year and Recaro seating.

Question:

I prefer the look of the Recaro seats. Do the Recaro leather seats allow you a lower seating position then the normal leather seats? Are the Recaro seats worth losing heated/cooled?

Just looking for peoples thoughts on this as I am torn a bit. Car is going to be something I can drive around town and take to the dragstrip.

Plan on supercharging it right away.

I looked into Roush Stage 3, and other packages, but I like to customize my own and don't need to pay a premium for a body kit.

I have to order the car since local dealers have none with under 400 miles on them with my options.

Color has been the hardest decision overall, I narrowed it down to Race Red, Comp Orange or White. I really want the car to stand out, so my choice at the moment is Comp Orange to be different.

Vortech, Ford racing, or Roush, with bushing kit and suspension is my mod goal.

You need to seat in the recaros before buying them . I love the look of them but sat in them and for a dd the regular leather seats were way better to me. Miles above last years model.

I've never sat in the recaros, but general consensus seems to be unless you are tracking the car, the normal seat are more than adequate- certainly not worth giving up the heating and cooling. Imo.

Be advised that you'll likely need to change rear axle gears to something taller if supercharging.

The 3.73s coupled with the manual trans ratios make for some SHORT gearing. I personally think it's perfect for a NA car, but will just blow the tires off with FI.

I vote no Recaros. I chose no to get them. My car is a DD and the heated/cooled seats is way more practical than the high bolstering of the Recaros. I will be tracking daying my car a few times and am waiting for my supercharger to arrive. (SC will be installed in may.) I found that the regular seats have enough support. They are definitely bolstered enough for some track driving and you don't have to "spider monkey climb" out of them every day. Sit in both! Think about how you will use the car and if it's worth it for you.

That $1800.00 can go a long way towards go fast stuff. If the stock seats sucked, then maybe, but I think they're some of the best I've sat in.

Just remember that if you decide on getting recaros you'll also lose the memory seat option that comes with 401a, for a DD I don't believe the recaros are worth it.

I disagree,The recaros are the one of the best options I got on my car,I went back and forth and after seeing so many inconsistencies with the leather bolstering support with the seats,some had good support,others loose and sloppy,I went with leather recaros.
To bad you can't get all the bells and whistles of the premium package the a cloth seat car,
IMO they have better support than leather seats,I would have still ordered the cloth recaros.Two options that where a must for me,performance package and recaros,originally I ordered a 401A car,but after hearing the stereo system I was very disappointed and got a 400a car,to bad ford does not put a good stereo system in the Mustang.

I'm a bit bias, because i got the Recaro's. but it depends on what your going to use it for.

I'm using mine for summer only, so heated seats are pointless, and rarely move my seat position and yell at anyone that moves my seat position addle: so the electric seats are also pointless. The A/C seat feature would be nice. but on the other hand, i don't think you can buy leather Recaro's aftermarket for $1,500. Note: i don't think, because i did not research it.

I saw the ford racing ones for $3,250 and they look the same aside for the ford logo.

And if you carry a concealed weapon on you the recaros suck lol that was the biggest deciding factor for me personally.

I wasn't willing to give up cooled/heated since since my car will be at least a 3 season DD. Plus i missed having power seats as well.

And I would have never heard the end of it from the GF if I gave up heated seats.

Get the standard seats for now, for the same price you can just buy custom recaro's to the specs of your body, will be much more comfortable and worth the money instead of the OEM recaros built for the average consumer.

I say vortech supercharger, I prefer that supercharger design instead of the over-engine design.

Race red was my second choice to magnetic, I would have gotten it if I wasnt in michigan.

The OE stock seats are good, but the Recaro's are so much nicer. I only drive my car in nice weather though so the heating/cooling for me is moot. I'm the only person who drives my car also so I don't care about the memory. I wasn't sold on the Recaro's so much at first and I kept justifying why I shouldn't get them, then I got them and am so glad I did. They are probably one of the single most enjoyable things about getting in the car for me is having them snug up against me for my drives. The one option you really need to not overlook is the premier interior option.

Does anyone know if you can order the Mustang and purchase the Ford Racing supercharger with it?

I do prefer the vortech, but also the appeal of just getting the car with it installed from Ford.

Also good information on the gearing with the supercharger.

The recaros appear to be 3500ish if purchased after the car, that's some $$. It also looks like you sit deaper in the car with the recaro and sit higher with the standard leather seating.

I have a bran new Tundra Platinum with heated and cooled seats for bad weather, this is my fun toy. But, giving up heated/cooled seats is not a easy task.

I want to order so bad, but really having a tough time with Red/Orange and Recaro or Standard leather. AAARRRG!

Also the premier trim with color accent group, ebony color. What is this over the standard ebony leather? Anyone know difference in look?

I bought my EcoBoost with the Recaros. I really didn't care for them at first but over time I've really grown to like them. I live in HI and we only have one season so heating and cooling really isn't important. The seats are very comfortable for day to day driving, reminds me of the Recaros in the EVO VIII I drove several years back (hands down the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in) good bolstering and I've never had a hard time getting in and out (maybe it's because I'm short and skinny)

I have the 201A package so I lose the memory seats with the Recaros. I'm the only one that drives the car so it doesn't matter to me.
