You could always try carmax and see what they'll give you. Might be enough to let it go.
If he’s willing to give it away. Car max is worse than trading a car in.

I run several companies but drive a truck to make a living at night and keep funnelling the money into the companies. My house is just shy of a million dollars, and yet I had to stretch to get a V6 Mustang instead of a Hyundai Elantra.

Also, most businessmen are cheap ass like me so you kids that tell me you can spend money like a drunken sailer on cars - well I simply don’t believe the back story of your life.

But I digress again...

Doesn't sound to me like you should be coaching anyone on finances.

But, I digress again...

Check NADA and Kelly blue book.i searchrf nada and they had trade at 30k.,retail 32,but I didn't select any options.my best luck selling cars is autotrader.if you go that route, make it run till sold and a feature car,and put up pics and videos.i just traded my Shelby and got exactly the nada value

Funny, I had the opposite experience from auto trader. The only response I got back from there was 3rd parties wanting to advertise on their site for a fee. I sold my last 2 cars on kijiji for a fraction of the autotrader fee. However, it is good idea to run an ad on multiple sites.

I sold two vehicles in February off cars.com. They show you how many hits your getting and was simple to use. Sold both a 2014 Escalade and 2015 c7 lt2 to buyer out of Minnesota in one deal. ;).

Hey Everyone,

So, I’m getting an itch to sell my 2018 Mustang GT PP2. I don’t want to. At all. But, unforeseen family obligations has created a bit of a strain.

I was looking for guidance on possible asking price. Facts:

2018
Metallic
2700 miles
Cloth Recaros
No Actice Exhaust
No mods, only RokBlocks on front fenders

Autotrader has two used PP2s at the moment:
- one with 4,xxx for 39,999
- one with 7,xxx for 33,000

Just trying to figure out a fair asking price if I were to sell.

Bummed....

Thanks y’all!
So you say "if your going to sell." So are you or are you not?
Bottom line is if you dont have an emergency fund set up for unforseen circumstances/expenses etc.. Then sell it if its a strain. Mustang or not it is just a car, you can always get another one later.
Probably will get a better price if you sell private party and not to a dealer. They will just mark it up to sell for profit, thats why they low ball you when you sell it to them.
Check KBB or Edmunds for private party values to get you in the ball park and start there.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all of the input! Always nice to be able to bounce ideas off the collective.

At this point, I’m going to keep it!

Again, thanks for all of the advice and whatnot!

Are you able to make it more affordable for you? Refinance at a lower interest rate possible?

Wonder if there was an outcome here. I'm debating on selling my 19 PP2 as well. The car payment is not crippling but I think the money could be better spent elsewhere considering how much time the car sits in the garage.

Hard to gauge a value on the PP2. I'm not really sure if the general market is going to value it higher or not.

new ones off the lot can be had for 85% of MSRP out the door give or take, so a used one has an implicit ceiling at that number and then factor in another 5% hit for being a used item.

I've had excellent results using autotrader.choose the featured car option, and post till it sells.id try listing it for what you paid for it,but agree that 20% under msrp would be good start as well.good luck.btw don't take cashier's checks, they can be faked.use a wire transfer when deal is done.

Yea, sadly, I did end up selling. I ended up selling to a friend of a friend who was in the market. Pretty much went for what the other folks on the forum said.

Good luck with the decision - it wasn’t an easy one!
