To continue with the guitar analogy I play the guitar as well. Lot's of metal which has a lot of scooped mids. Our ears get used to the mid range scoop and we keep wanting to turn the mids down more and more to the point the guitar is lost in the mix of the entire band. When dialing in your guitar sound you need to take a break every once in a while to let your ears "reset". If this applies to car exhaust then the longer you listen to an exhaust especially like during a trip or long race then the less full the exhaust will sound.

I definitely will look into this. I didn't have a tool to torque things to any spec, just a ratchet. Wonder if something's loose like you said. That would be an easy fix!
Any updates?

Quick and easy fix:) I know Josh isn't running into any issues and he's with not resonators or cats!

Keep us updated!

I've appreciated all the input from Shawn and others here. My friend and I went for a test run together last night and he's hearing the same changes and worded it better than I could, "it's like there's a sharp, tinkly header noise that wasn't there before." Also sounds less loud when reverberating off of close walls.

I think the suggestions of expansion and contraction might be right; the clamps might have loosened. We're going to check the car out on Sunday. I'm not too worried although I do want the noise I fell in love with back, and that's not to say that I don't like it as is. Still sounds fantastic and I would recommend it to everyone.

Probably a leak/loose midpipe connection. I'm hoping that's all it is.

Very common with a modular system, and this does sound like symptoms of a leak or loose clamp.

That's comforting to know. Will find out on Sunday and plan on getting some GoPro footage along with another member on here. Should be a good day, his car is pretty built with a Procharger blower. :)

Will keep y'all posted.

most of the time, one retighten fixes everything, sometimes twice

look at it like lugs,

lugs always should be retorqued after putting them on.

things move / settle, etc.. heat causes the exhaust to expand and contract

for those that want mild, we have just the axle backs, and just the x pipe available individually as well, and in stock!

the double x deleting the resonator makes a nice difference in these cars
