I'm curious - have you guys tried a 18x11 square setup to see if there's anyway to make it work, stock, on a GTPP?

I'm pondering coilovers - but if I could do a square setup...I may snag that for a dedicated track set prior to pulling the trigger on COs.

As you will see with Dusold designs, they are running a very different et front compared to rear to make it work. You can also tell that with the proper offset for the front 18x11 they stick out past the fenders by quite a bit. I believe all of the photos I've seen so far though the front wheels have been turned so it makes it harder to see.

So to RustedAngel...you just don't have the room up front to make it work well on an S550 without some extensive work or being cool with it sticking far past the fender.

No just the opposite. A 10.5" et36 would be VERY aggressive on the 15 GT. It would poke outboard 12mm more than the 10.5" et48, putting it past the fender. With that aggressive of an offset (et36) you would need to stretch probably a 275 or less and get it to -2 degrees of camber or more.

On the 17" specs you give I already answered it with the explanation of the et36. An et28 on a 10.5...forget it. You are thinking in the reverse. The lower the et number the farther the wheel pushes outboard (all things equal). A 9" or 9.5" wide wheel would be fine front and rear with an et of 28, NOT a 10.5".

I brought up the 36 because you said your wheels with 12 mm spacers. That equals 36 without spacers, hence the question.

So the 17 setup with more negative camber could work or would it require extensive fender mods?

If i overlay your setup with et 36 and mine the fender interference is almost identical.

Yes sorry, you are correct for the front, but thats just the thing...that same et on the back will not work. For example; we also have an option of 18x10 et 40 for those that want a straight bolt on. This is the max that you can do up front and still work good on the back...a true rotatable set up.

Yes, it would work up front, I'm only saying that once you get to 10.5 and beyond you can't run the same offset front and rear without relocating the strut in board and/or spacers up front. If you run same width front and rear with different offsets like Dusold, that works as well BUT you obviously can't rotate front to rear unless you dismount the tires to swap front to rear. So for an 11" up front you would need approximately an 11" et30 (depending on tire size) to clear in board to the strut. BUT I believe this will stick past the fender like Dusold. As far as the rear, like I mention above, that 11" et30 will NOT work out back as it will stick past the rear fender close to an inch.

Not sure exactly but -4 is pretty huge for the rear. You will sacrifice straight line traction at that amount. That's getting into the realm of "stance nation".

It's a V6, traction is not going to be a problem. LOL

I've had good luck with similar setups on drift cars. Then again, straight line traction wasn't the main focus there either...

what size wheel/tires?

They're the stock 235/50/18 tires on the factory 18''x 8'' foundry wheels.

FYI - My wheels got ordered this weekend.
I did a bunch of measurements and compared lots of pics / setups and ran the math through the size calc. I think I can make them work, but just barely.

Expect pics of a REALLY aggressive fitment next week.
