Yesterday I went cruising in the mountains and it was awesome. I went with my friend who drove his 2011 BMW E92 M3. I have a mustang GT premium with the performance pack and Recaros. The mustang has good handling around the corners and the recaro seats hug me well. Overall the road trip was about 150 miles and the first half was mountain riding the other half was cruising up the coast.

About half way through the trip we decided to stop at a view point to have a little competition who has a loader/better tone exhaust. He has a modified stock exhaust and I have FRPP sport catback exhaust.
Let me know who you think won!! :ford:

Both cars sound awesome, however hearing that M3 at 8000 RPM is beautiful.

I like both, but prefer the mustang sound. A e92 m at high revs under load does sound really good tho.

+1. Hearing them under load would be much more accurate. Both sound good but I would give the nod to the M3

I have the modded box on my MY13 M3, does sound the business but the Mustang has that growl! Youtube vids never give a true reproduction in sound so i can only assume the GT PP with the FRPP sounds even better. Will be changing the Exhaust on my new purchase asap. Some stockist here in the UK are already saying they will get a few manufacturers stuff in. Only got to wait 8 months for my car ;-( then the pro spring kit to get rid of gaps on wheel arches etc

PS Lovely car by the way OP, I think I'm changing my order from AB to Magnetic.

Did you trade off cars to see how different each one drove?

Thanks everyone for the compliments! Him and I will have to soon get together to get a video while driving.

Thanks! I want to eventually lower my car also. That is a crazy wait time... 8 months. I love the color and am glad I went with it but like you at first I wanted AB but when I saw magnetic in person had to go with it.

No, he doesn't know how to drive stick... and don't want him to learn in my car.

My vote based on the video is the Mustang won. Nothing like that American Muscle sound, other than perhaps the Jaguar F-type. Now that's cool sounding factory exhaust.

I love the sound of the Mustangs, always have since I owned my first Mustang GT back in 1982. However, a modded E92 M3 from 4k rpm on up you get to hear not only the exhaust roaring away and the growl it has, but the 8 individual throttle bodies have a wail that is simply orgasmic.

This isn't my car but this is my setup on my M3

I love the M3. Although most will argue the E46 M3 was the best, I would have the E92 M3, simply because I think that V8 is so awesome.

My 2004 E46M3, the one I never should have sold...however, I am more of a fan with the E92...the S65 engine is going to go down as one of the great ones. Especially for a car that was released in 2007.

The turbo hiss in that video is the most irritating sound I think I've ever heard. Hopefully there's enough sound deadening in the cabin that you don't hear that. That would drive me absolutely nuts hearing that high frequency noise all the time.
