Hi all,

Ive been lurking on this site for quite some time now. I decided to start a post because looking for the exact mustang I want is just aggravating.

The impossible to find car and setup I want:

2015 Mustang GT Premium
6-speed manual
Oxford White
400a
GT Performance Package

And I want the car to have under 10 miles on the odometer. I can only image the type of test drives some dealerships offer.

Nothing more nothing less. I cant figure out why its so damn hard to find that. I dont need any of the other useless (to me) options.

So is ordering the way to go or just wait it out and hope one falls in my lap. According to ford.com the MSRP should be around 40K which is acceptable and I wouldnt mind paying that.

Now the X-plan question. Can I use my girlfriends PIN? Is it worth getting X-plan price? I know there are a bunch of threads regarding this but Id be OK with a yes or no answer.

Thanks for reading through, looking forward to suggestions.

Even without Xplan, you should'nt ever have to pay over invoice which should take roughly $3K off of MSRP right away. I would'nt worry about test drive miles. 99% of those have a salesman with them......

I did a factory order and used X-plan. Both are worth it IMHO. I dunno about the PIN issue, but they're not that hard to come by either way.

When I bought my S197 Mustang,I went to the Ford Dealer told him what I wanted and in what color, and in about a week they had my Mustang with 3 miles on the odometer, right off of the truck and into my garage, paid cash and no bull shit, took about 30 min(2011 GT),good luck with your search!

If you are ready to buy now and can wait for the build then order one. You will have the benefit of knowing it did not sit on a lot during the winter and know that it hasn't been taken for a joy ride.

As far as not finding exactly what you want, dealers probably place their orders based on averages and what you want maybe does not fit their profile.

Not sure about the girlfriends pin. You may have to be married??? Dunno...

Not sure about that one. Our local Ford dealer let's us take the vehicles without a salesman. As a matter of fact I just went to the local Caddy dealer a few weeks ago and they let me take out an ATS coupe by myself to check out.

I have your same exact car except in silver. Using x-plan my car was $33K plus tax. And YES I ordered it, and it came off the truck with 19 miles on it. The factory puts miles on them getting through quality control.

Like the others have said, If you can wait 8-10 weeks do it. You will get exactly what you want. My dealer had almost the exact GT that I wanted, except for the Red Line option, every thing else was the same has I ordered. I new this car was a keeper, so I decided to order, rather than always regretting not having the redline interior. Plus when I order a car (as all of mine have been for the last 15 years) it teaches me patience. I didn't say the waiting is easy ( it drives ne nuts at times)

But at least you have to be pretty sure those miles weren't put on by some random dude walking into the dealership wanting to joyride.

Waiting for it is very hard. Some dealers will only give you x-plan if you order it. Depends on the dealer and how many they are allocated.

Is your GT a Premium? I am surprised that it was only 33k with a performance pack.

Thank you for all the replies. I think ordering is the way to go. I had no idea the wait time is only 8-10 weeks, I was expecting a LOT longer.

So the dealer shopping game begins. I wish I could just buy the car online and have it delivered. Why is it still such a hassle to buy a car? Cmon amazon get with the times.
