Checked the can and no oil yet, the engine side tubing did have oil in it. JBL had to replace its trap with a simple screen before the catch can would work. I will keep checking.

The current catch can for the Ecoboost you offer has the nylon fittings correct?

Just a quick update to a new catch can product offering for units with plastic fittings that would like to switch to Forged Aluminum fittings to eliminate any chance of failure or doubt of one.

These fittings will be listed for sale on the UPRproducts site next week and they not only make your catch can much safer and stronger, but they will improved the look and performance as well.

Both the single valve and dual valve have metal factory style quick connections on the catch can.

We only run Nickel, Billet or Stainless fittings with all our systems.

We eliminated the nylon - composite - plastic fittings years ago. They fail and created tons of unhappy customers. I think only one or two manufacturers still run them. We only run Nickel, Billet or Stainless fittings with all our systems.

Quality is a priority for UPR.

quick question
sorry if I missed this
Does you OCC have a check valve incorporated to prevent high boost crankcase pressure?
If so what's the cracking pressure?
If not, why?

thanks !

Yes our catch cans run check valves on the clean side and the cracking pressure is 3-4lbs. to prevent pressurizing the crankcase. They can comfortably handle 100psi. without any problems as these have been developed to control high pressure without any question.

good to know - thanks for the reply
I'm not challenging your product but I do think 3-4 lbs. to crack open a check valve seems high
100psi holding pressure it obviously more than enough

thanks again

NP,

I actually went in back and grabbed our vacuum tester and checked the valves for the normally aspirated engines and it was 1 lb. with the handheld mightvac vacuum pump and I tested all three sizes to be sure they were consistent.

The turbocharged truck unit is 1-2 lbs. Thank you for making me double check the one way valves. The ones we use for the fuel systems are the units that range between 3-5 lbs. those were the ones I quoting the pressure from. They do not get used on the catch can systems.

Just to give you the exact information.

Hey Joe what's the size of the plug on the bottom of the catch can? I need to find some sort of drain valve I really don't want to keep removing the can to drain it

Hey whoosh what can do you have..?
well I "was" interested in the UPR
but I hate the fake AN worm clamp fittings
I sent Joe a PM asking if I could get something else for fittings

heck I'd even settle for nice hoses with silicone suitable clamps over fake AN's or go real AN no matter what the cost (don't care)

so I decided to go with the Mishi can, will most likely add a Boomba check valve on the line between the intake manifold and Mishi can

I'll post pics of the install - I'm also custom powder coating the can

Not trying to sell anyone's product, but keep in mind if you add a check valve to the intake manifold when you go in boost and the valve closes you'll start pushing oil back the other direction and it will go into your intake right before the turbo. Only solution I know of is a second vacuum source like UPR uses or a second can on the other side of the system.
