So I locked my car yesterday and went inside, when I checked the car the windows were open. Did I press something on my key?

Probably. It can open with the fob but not close.

press and hold the unlock button. this will work for only a short time after you get out of the car, or for a short time after you unlock the car.

I am too lazy to go to the garage and check but I think it is press LOCK, hold down UNLOCK for 5 seconds, and press UNLOCK again. I think. :D

EDITED: What Patrick said. I think I will make myself un-lazy and make coffee. :p

I discovered you can also remote-start the car after opening the windows - but not before.

Welcome to the insane World of "Global Open". If by accident, something in your pocket depresses the (unlock) button a second time for a few seconds, (all) your Windows will suddenly go down. Usually, when you least expect it and you will return to find your Car`s Interior soaking wet after a massive Thunder Storm. Love Technology, huh?

Just turn off the feature if the technology bothers you.

Sorry, its not a Consumer programmable option. Most Ford Dealers will charge you a minimum of a half hour labour charge to have a Tech use his IDS Programmer and connect it to your Vehicles Smart Junction Box to "disable" this ridiculous feature!

The ability to disable this feature is in the settings area of the dash console\computer thingy. you don't need to go to the dealer.

Check out the "menu map" thread in the general forum.

"Global Open" was not a (programmable) user Option in my new Ford C-Max Hybrid which required a Dealer Tech to disable it. You sure its the "Global Open" feature you claim one can disable on their own? I couldn`t find it?

You can do it yourself. Settings, windows and turn off the ridiculous feature.

I`ll attempt it tomorrow and Post my results.
PS: Perhaps a Canadian Spec Vehicle has different settings. Canadian DRL`s can`t be disabled and neither your Fog Lights without pulling a fuse. U.S. Spec Mustangs can disable the LED DRL`s with a click of button on the steering wheel under "Lighting/Settings". I attempt the task Tues.
