I agree the new M4 is faster than the GTPP.
It's funny how you guys set the GTPP apart from the GT non PP in regards to straight line performance.
Going in to the spring and summer, you will find the GTPP and non PP GT producing the same trap speeds and times in the 1/4 mile (with any of the gear options). That was the case with the 11-14 GT's.

My 15 GT feels a little more powerful in the mid-upper rpm than my 12 and 14 GT's did.

Magnetic is the fastest btw!

If you had spend $2.5k telling yourself it's a bargain, would do the same :) there has to be benefit from it ;-)

You got it all wrong. White is the fastest. ;)

The s550 feels very fast compared to my prior car which was a 360HP VW GTI.
Ha, I agree. Coming from a 280hp gti this thing feels brutish. I'm interested to see the difference between my GT and my buddy's tuned 335.

Agreed, it in the mid and upper rpm range where I felt the 15GT feels faster than the gen 1 Coyote. Reminds me of the Boss motor.

GTPP was used loosely as I own one but makes more sense when talking about the M3 etc due to the sharper handling. I fully expect the base auto with 3.55 to run similar 0-60s, esp as it skips the shift you need with the manual 3.73. Speeds should be pretty close.

I used to drive an e92 m3...great car. As for the new m3/m4, I was very surprised to see that in many comparison car reviews, the GT was within spitting distance of the m3 around a track. Pretty impressive.
I haven't see a review of the 15 GT Vs M4- if you have one do link. The Stang is def more analog and mechanical feeling compared to the M4, but didn't know it was close on the track.

Cheers

C7 is fugly

My expectations are a bit let down by it to be honest. But, to be fair I am not used to driving a car that is so heavy.

My last "436hp" car was a C6 Grand Sport MN6+Dry Sump LS3 that completely stock put down 399hp on an "honest" Dynojet that I have used for many cars in the past. With the weight savings and the power it was much faster and stronger feeling than the 435 crank hp in the Mustang.

Every time I get on it I expect a bit more, and having driven my C7 a few times in the last week it emphasizes it even more. Car needs mods. :)
Sorry but the C7 is just plain ugly with all those curves. That Hugh rear end is horrible. Why do you think the next generation is going mid engine ? I owned one and just could not warm up to it's looks ...sorry.

Who the hell designed this thing

Really look @ this thing. What is with the rear end being so high. Even if you lower it that won't help. Can't wait till they go mid engine.
Count the blocks on the wall and see how high the rear end is. Way to busy with all those curves and lines that don't match up very well. Pushrod old school V/8 under the hood now that's progress. The thing has a 6.2 engine so that it won't vibrate itself to death in 4 Banger mode. Yes a 4 banger Corvette cruising down the highway.
Can't imagine what those valves will look like after 10k miles. Remember that engine has Direct injection and that combination along with 4/8 will load up those valves with that black stuff called carbon.
Can't wait to see the head to head Shelby GT 350R vs C7 Z06. The second lap the Z06 will overheat and fall on it's face while the Shelby keeps on truckin. I'm not making this stuff up. The head engineer said the auto 8 speed is a faster track car but overheats quicker. Therefore should not be purchased as a track car. That's engineering @ GM these days.

Not sure why you are complaining that your S550 is slower than a C6 or C7. I should hope its faster since it's a different class of car and costs upwards of twice as much.

The C7 is not that much faster 1/4 mile times 12.35 vs 12.52
A loaded GT premium MSRP $43k vs loaded 3lt C7 Z51 $80K MSRP
A base GT MSRP $32k vs base C7 $58K.MSRP
The C7 is such a great car they are selling way below invoice after only one year. If you really want a great deal buy a used one with a blown engine history.Lol

The auto 3.15, manual 3.31 and 3.55 base GT's should be close to the 3.73 PP, maybe a tick quicker in the 1/4 as well due to not having to shift into 5th through the traps and more traction in first; however the 3.73 car should have the edge on a taller tire(slick). The auto with the 3.55's may be the quickest stock set up, time will tell. I am going off what I've seen with the 11-14 coyotes...

Id expect the GTPP to be as quick as the M4 on the track but a little behind in the 1/4.

Thats not all my friend, GTPP can also lap as fast as the new corvette too! Motortrend times for streets of willow shows that! Cheers.

Opinion, no problem.

You know that the cars are adjustable ride height with a 10mm bolt, right? That example looks like one that is at max height. And yes, I've used the "4 cylinder mode" on the freeway to achieve over 30MPG. it's seemless and will move back to V8 mode w/o any issues if you shift or press the gas. Beats the best of 19.2 I get in my GT PP.

I was comparing my C6 436HP car to the Mustang 435HP, and then now I have a C7 and just said it makes the 435HP Mustang seem lacking and needing mods..

I see. Your facts are skewed. Base C7 is $55k MSRP. Nobody pays MSRP for Corvettes or Mustangs.

I haven't seen a Stock S550 approach those numbers, so yes, they are faster.

Hate all you want, I don't care as I own both and they are different cars.

I will never understand people's like for one thing making them feel like they have to tear something else down to build up or justify what they like. You know what i like? Cars. I like some cars more than others. Every car is cool in its own way to someone. I'm happy that we get to even experience this era where EVERYONE is making great cars. I'm not even sure i would be a car enthusiast if I had grown up in the early 80's.

I never said I hate the C7 just reported on the carbon problem with direct injection engines running in 4 cylinder mode. Most of the car companies that use direct injection also use port injection to eliminate the carbon build up on the valves. Also to call a C7 Z06 a track car and then have the ECU pull power . GM said you could prevent this with a tune but no warranty after that. Randy Pobst did a head to head review with the GTR and the Z06 after one lap was slower. He said it didn't feel like a 600+hp car. Those are facts not opinions. This is a Mustang forum and a C7 guy came on here so what the heck.
The hell cat can run on the track using up a full tank of gas without pulling power. That thing is supercharged.
I actually owned a C7 Z51 and got it before they hit the streets . Never do that again ...got it for MSRP - $1765 GM card earnings .They were still hot when I sold it so didn't take a bath. But just could never warm up to her.

Anyone with a S550 GT with aftermarket supercharger? Seriously - I've had fast cars and I cant imagine how quick that must be. Would love to hear experiences with that setup.
