Wondering if the GT is under-rated? I remember the E92 M3 and the S197 Coyote - this feels quite a bit stronger, somewhere between the C6 with the LS3 (ok, so that was the strongest 435 HP given its wt) and the Camaro SS.

On my way to work I looked down at the speedo and was a bit shocked - someone on this forum who test drove a GT a few months back mentioned their 335 BMW felt faster, YMMV but I dont know WHAT GT they drove (prolly a Hyundai Tiburon GT), this car feels faster than my 500HP BMW M6 (prolly due to the lower torque of that car and 200-300 pounds additional wt) although that has a higher top end ~200mph . It's also getting louder (start up, in cabin - cant speak about exterior drive by as I'm the one driving) and more torquey as the break-in continues. Steering feel remains excellent and braking is ridiculously good. Fuel economy is....forget it, I didnt buy the car for that.

Random grainy cell phone snap of the car attached :-) Loving it so far. Mean (but refined) beast.
I like the shelby GT style side stripes. Looks nice!

The M3 makes 295ft/lbs of torque but when you look at the torque being put down to the wheels because of the gearing the M3 is very similar to what is being put down on the road. There isn't a lazy gear in the M3.

Now if you want to talk about the new M3 game over, the Mustang has so much ground to make up. There have been people who have run 11.6 @121mph in bone stock F8X M3/4s.

I used to drive an e92 m3...great car. As for the new m3/m4, I was very surprised to see that in many comparison car reviews, the GT was within spitting distance of the m3 around a track. Pretty impressive.

The new 5.0 is a hybrid of the Boss 302 and Cobra Jet motors...

you can damn Skippy bet it is strong. Just by changing out the exhaust, intake tube and tune you can get it to well over 100 hp/ liter.

A guy here on the forum just ran a [email protected] in a bone stock A6 '15GT. So auto to DCT, they seem to be in the same territory. M6 to M6, likely the same as well.

Both great cars.

Guess I'm spoiled? Car doesn't feel as fast as my S197 but the refinement is nice. It's a fast car but could always use more power... I have the means for a SC this go 'round, so that should be fun.

Mine feels a lot faster than my old ls3 camaro. All cars are different and the whp they are putting down as well. I haven't dynoed my car yet but i think i m one of those lucky ones who was blessed with HP and Torque Fairies in the Michigan Plant during assembly :D So far the only mode i have is a Roush Axlebacks! Ohh and i ve been feeding my girl premium fuel since its off the trailer!

My expectations are a bit let down by it to be honest. But, to be fair I am not used to driving a car that is so heavy.

My last "436hp" car was a C6 Grand Sport MN6+Dry Sump LS3 that completely stock put down 399hp on an "honest" Dynojet that I have used for many cars in the past. With the weight savings and the power it was much faster and stronger feeling than the 435 crank hp in the Mustang.

Every time I get on it I expect a bit more, and having driven my C7 a few times in the last week it emphasizes it even more. Car needs mods. :)

One of the ways I felt the cars improvement was by driving a bone stock 2014 Auto GT and a 2015 Auto back to back. Same gear ratio but the 15 felt and pulled much much harder.

Yes the car is about 65 lbs heavier base to base with autos..but the S550 is a much better car overall.

I felt quite the opposite. The 14 def feels faster in the upper rpm then when I drove the 15, you can tell the weight diff. Its not much but its there.

Agree. I def noticed that in a straight line, the previous gen def felt a tad faster.

Then again, it could also be because the 15 is more refined than the 14.

Here's a tune/bolton s197 vs a bolt on ls3 c6. Big diff once you start modding. I had a 5th gen ls3 even cammed it still had some trouble pulling on an auto coyote full bolton.

You got it all wrong. White is the fastest. ;)

The s550 feels very fast compared to my prior car which was a 360HP VW GTI.
