The only time I noticed the torque curve of the EB was when I was in 6th gear at ~40 mph (so lugging the engine). It definitely gained speed faster than the V6. Otherwise they felt similarly quick in most situations, and the V6 actually felt quicker in city driving when you're not getting on it much. Add that to the noise, and I was sold.

The eB doesn't have much below 2600. V6 is the clear winner there. The rest is pretty similar. What's "STP" mean? Does it mean "at the rear wheel"?

I have to guess the V6 is on the way out because two such similar engines don't make sense. Maybe Ford didn't want to bank its new Mustang's hopes only a new, untested engine.

STP means standard temperature and pressure.

Regardless of the dyno curves, the EB still builds boost under high load, low engine speed conditions and as a result pulls a little harder under those conditions. To be fair, the one I drove most recently was also in sport mode, and was a manual transmission, performance package vehicle.

If you want the car with the most performance potential the Ecoboost is the way to go. All depends on what your looking for. Turbo engines turn into beasts with just a tune. An Naturally asperated v6 engine might get anywhere from 10 to 30ft lbs of torque from a tune depending on the Tuner.. a Turbo i4 will get 100 ft lbs of torque from just a tune on top of the torque advantage it already has. All depends on what your looking to get out of the car. Plus the Ecoboost is FORDs ticket to lunching the Mustang global.. which means a bigger selling market and more people driving the Ecoboost and a Huge aftermarket for the engine.. Plus the fact that theres a chance the v6 is on its way out.. Up to you really.. the v6 Mustang engine is still a good engine..

Did you look at the dyno? It's a huge improvement in low end power.
They didnt change the v6 for 2015 at all.. FORD even claims 5hp loss due to changes in needed engine bay space.. but thats nothing honestly.. but there is no performance upgrade for it.. i dont trust posted dyno numbers online no matter what engine or car it is.. so many variables in dyno testing and if the 2 cars are not done back to back on the same dyno same day it not a good comparison.

It's very true. SOTP feel matches the dyno curve posted. I was NOT impressed at all with a 2014 V6 Premium with M/T that I drove. I had a lot of fun driving a 2015. Ecoboost is great, no one is saying it isn't, but so is the new V6 with a significantly revised upper intake manifold that improves low-end torque, combined with shorter axle ratios.

Im sorry but there was no power upgrade for the V6.. if they felt something in there butt dyno its in there head. Dont forget it a entirely new chassis so it going to FEEL different from last gen no matter what.

You do realize that peak power/peak torque has very, very little to do with how the vehicle drives? The total area under the curve and the shape of the curve is MUCH more important to vehicle performance.
