Just don't speed and you won't get tickets.

No detector is going to save you when you are going that fast, nor should you be on a public road. Rent track time and hurt yourself or wreck your own car, that's fine, but don't risk other's lives on the road who are innocent because you think you're a race car driver now with a Mustang.

By the time you even tap the brake to slow they have your speed measured with new technology and you won't get out of the ticket. This isn't 10 years ago with radar guns, many use lasers now which are instant.
The speed limit is 65. Your're going to tell md you drive 65 max all the time? If you do you drive like a grandma.

Ok grandma. More 'advice' I'll never heed.

No. But not admittedly well over 100 (100 slowing down at that) either like some immature teenager with his first car with any horsepower. 10 over, even 15 in some situation, ok that's a different story.

Hope you have good insurance, asset protection and a criminal lawyer on call if you hit someone at that reckless speed (105/110-120+) because they're way more than likely dead. Hope you're good at reaching for your ankles for 25 to life because the only resembling a female here will be you.

If you meant Radar Detector I would go for the Valentine V1 its a little pricy but It has saved me more than enough times when I lived out in CA. Unfortunately in VA radar is illegal here
No it is not. perfectly legal in cali sa long as you don't have it attached to the windshield. I have one mounted to my rearview mirror, hard wired.

In Florida's many interstate freeways doing anything under 70 puts you permanently in the right lane. It's not uncommon for ppl to break from traffic and hit 85 when the road opens up. 100 yeah is way too fast but it happens.

Honestly I'm still shocked that radar is used at all. Even mediocre detectors these days can detect a pulse of Ka from a good distance. I know there are a few ex-cops here so I don't want to assume anything. But it seems like aiming that laser gun very acutely at every cars front license plate could get weirdly tedious and tiring. They could bust us all if they just wanted to sweat a little more. Lol Radar is way easier for them for them to use. They can get readings without even holding it and just mounting it on the dash.

You really have to be isolated on the road and no detector to warn you to get nailed with Ka and have no way out of the ticket. Anyone in Florida remember the Ticket Clinic?

In Europe, some places have 'check points' on the highway with cameras that scan all license plates, if you pass the next point (a couple of kms down the road) 'too soon', you must have been speeding and you get a ticket in the mail with a nice picture of your car, courtesy the department of justice. They won't fine you for 1kph over, but if your speed has been like more than 10 kph over the speed limit on average over the stretch, you will get one.

No radar detector/scrambler helps you against those systems. I hear they are interested in these systems in the US as well.

Don't try to make 100+ sound the same as 10 over.

The difference in degree matters, else you wouldn't mind being hit with a baseball bat any more than with a soft plastic pool noodle.

I still say, bring it to Spring Mountain and see if all of your driving skills really are up to snuff to support that kind of speed. Even though I have a feeling that it'd be the guys driving Miatas calling you the 'grandma driver'.

To add to my last post, the best detector money can buy is not a window mounted unit. It would be the Beltronics STi-R/Escort 9500ci. Both are installed in the car (sensors in the nose, controls inside), have the best range, auto-lockout known false alerts and are not detectable by radar detector detectors. The 9500ci also has laser jammers if you're want that.

Also, agreed 100+ is not for public roads.

Unless it is the Autobahn. ;) (and even then it depends on traffic.)

I remember going 115mph there, I wanted to know how fast the rental car I had could actually go and that was flat-out. I see some Mercedes approaching in my rear view mirror, flashing his headlights that I should move over, I moved over the the right lane to let him pass and he over took me like I was standing still, he must have been doing at least about 150 mph.

And it sounds like you're an immature teenager with his first car with some actual HP asking how to break the law better, so are you any better?

Again, your driving skill, no matter how good you think it is, pales in comparison to many here and many many more out there in the world who STILL get into accidents. The Paul Walker crash ring a bell? Driver was a major circuit racing champion going 100mph+ in a car MUCH more capable than these mustangs and crashed and both died. Yes there was a fire, but both suffered SEVERE injuries due to the crash itself at that speed if you read the report. Have good insurance and no assets that can be taken?

There are accidents daily at speeds much lower than 100 where people are killed, and don't even make contact but going to fast and scare someone off the road or into another car. Sh*t happens so dont act like a dumb a**.

It's not "square" to use better judgment than to drive at 40 or more mph above the speed limit. If you feel you have to justify this better judgment, it doesn't matter if the reason you give yourself involves tickets or crashes.
