As much as I hated waiting I specifically delayed coating my F-150 until spring. I’m also thankful I insulated the garage and added a mini-split a few years ago. It’s too damn hot now and I have to move too much stuff to get the truck into the garage as it requires pulling in diagonally and then Austin Powers it into position. IYKYK lol

Well, it got the better of me. I managed to track down a set of blue and red Snappy Grip handles. The black ones will be repurposed elsewhere.

A small change, but having them match the decal, gamma seal, and bucket dolly makes quite a difference.

Been stupid busy this week at home since I took off work. DId 4 Mustangs so far, got a 5th one in the garage for a full decon, polish, and coat. Slacked on pics but here is a few of the cars I had on premise this week...

Well today was an off day in my detail week. However I had a crew come today and install something I have needed the entire 6 years I have lived here. I am so stoked to have some more "covered" space to work. Slowly but surely I will enclose it a little, or at least install some lighting and maybe a "big ass fan" in the ceiling. So stoked..

Ooooh, now that's exciting!

I'm sitting here looking at those pics and imagining what I'd do with that space. Swisstrax would be a no brainer, making for a clean, dry surface to work on. Then a wall mount pressure washer and bucket filler, perhaps even a boom pole. Lighting, a power reel, perhaps some shelves to rest products and tools on.

Excited for you!

Thank you. Yes I am totally excited. It will be an extension of my current garage which has all the pressure washer and stuff. Luckily I have a 75 foot hose so I can pull it across. Good lighting and power options are a must for sure. I have a very long hex light panel in my Amazon shopping cart as we speak 🤷🤷🤣🤣.

Be careful with Hex lights. They mostly don't provide the sort of light you need for detailing, even though you see them in a lot of professional workshops. The light dispersion isn't great, and they can be super fatiguing due to the reflections they create and the harshness of the output. They look awesome, but you'll get better performance from linear fixtures..........which can actually be more expensive. You are looking for 90+ CRI for detailing, and also be aware not all CRI ratings are equal.

Got the Ranger and Mustang washed this week. Tyres cleaned with Brake Buster, wheels and body with Carpro Reset.

On the Ranger, after the wash I decided to apply Reload 2.0 to the paint and plastic trims. I feel like this product gets a bad wrap, but the latest formula is easier to apply and has exceptional gloss and slickness. I continued the Carpro theme inside by using InnerQD for the wipe down. InnerQD was my favourite interior QD for quite a while, but I mostly grab ADS Pilot these days as I prefer the scent and how is behaves under the towel. For the glass, I went with P&S Reflect, a product that I really like. I then wiped the wheels down with Amplify, dressed the tyres with OG TD.

For the Mustang, after blow drying with the EGO, I went with a very light go over with ADS Amplify, which was also used on the door jambs, engine bay, exhaust tips and wheels. Glass got the Reflect treatment, interior wiped down with a damp towel. The final job was a fresh layer of OG TD.

Obsessed Garage should be dropping their new linear lights soon. They don’t require 10v for dimming so no need for the dimmer packs which will save you hundreds.

This is so freaking cool! Forgive me if you already posted the answer to this but where did you get these custom decals for the buckets?

There is nothing better than hanging out with your dog in the garage working on a car. I always have my little pup out in the garage with me as long as it's safe for him to be out there depending what kind of work I am doing.

I even added a window air conditioner to my garage just for my little pup. Does your pup like being out in the garage too? Any plans on teaching him how to do a paint correction? lol

I created the logo online, then went to a local printing company with the artwork and sizing I wanted. They then mocked up a couple of layouts using the red and blue pantone colours I matched to the bucket lids. I had two of each decal printed, so that inflated the total price but still reasonable considering the layout work they did.

Very nice. My boy and I did 2 cars yesterday too :) Olly is getting big and is so handsome. We had our supervisor helping us yesterday too. She just simply LOVES to be outside, and with people no matter what we are doing...
