Base GT.

The sound, the torque, and the peace of mind that 400+ HP is just a foot pedal away.

saw an EB on the road today. some well dressed young man. i slowed down intentionally so we can acknowledge each other, but all he did was look down at my fender/wheel area and then look straight ahead again.

the mustang crowd is very different from the subaru crowd where they acknowledge each other

agreed. the only other time i saw another S550, we were going opposite directions. i flashed him, but didnt get a flash back. it was a GT when i looked at my rearview after we passed each other.

then this one other time me and an S197 were at a red light when i was on my way to get my exhaust installed, all he did was look at me for a half a second and then look straight ahead again. his car sounded nice, i can tell it had at least an exhaust on it and probably more.

perhaps mustang drivers are just shy.

maybe to him it's just a car
"i bought it because it looks good"

you're probably right. the mustang is more of a mainstream car, not like the subaru wrx/sti

the subarus are some of the ugliest cars in the world, and you have to be a car enthusiast to appreciate it

Today I test drove a manual GT Premium with the 3.55. I had previously driven one with the 3.31.

The 3.55 is a noticeable improvement. Wakes it up. Worth every cent.

I'll have the chance to drive the PP w/3.73 soon. We'll see if that's too much,. or just right.

Best thing about the Premium Edition is the modes and gauges. The rest of the stuff, I'd rather delete.

I don't think my wife will be interested in driving from Texas to Pa to buy a Mustang. If I was single and within a 1,000 miles I might.

Wait, $8000 difference? What kind of numbers is that? The EcoBoost i was looking at with X plan was around $31,800, and my GT i ordered is around $36,100. That is not a $8000 difference, and i don't think i similarly spec'd EB and GT would be that different. EB's can top out at $37k and i think a GT can top out at $42k. Its around a $5k difference, and thats a lot, i admit, but nowhere near $8000.
The GT I ordered came to $44,271, the Eco boost with very similar options that we spect was around $8000 less. I was not looking at x plan $ since I don't qualify for it.

Mustang Club of America membership gets you X plan for $50 a year. Could've saved a couple grand off the MSRP. (I think it's like $300 or so over invoice).

Cool thanks, I did not know that. I will look into joining, my GT won"t be in for about 4 more weeks. I also mentioned this in another post somewhere else on the forum that when I went to order the car the dealer had a $2000 mark up, that I made them removed before ordered the car in writing.
Thanks,
Ron
