That might be a OE badge, but is it an OE finish ? (It kind of looks like a chrome badge, that’s been painted).

Congratulations on the wedding !

I have to ask, what car are you getting ?

We were (very) lucky and ended up with this :

Thank you mate :)

You're not the first to suspect a painted chrome badge. The OEM one set me back £60, but it did last a good 6+ years. I might try to coat it in sealant/wax this time in the hope it holds up better!

As for the car, my best man is Steve who I met through this forum (still has his s550), we've been close since 2015, many road trips, and he's been kind enough to lend his 1957 Chevy Bel Air for my wife to be - I'll be driving my own car on the day.

Here's a pic. I do adore it, arguably the prettiest car ever built! (red one)

Yay! Failed the MoT on the usual S550 mustang issue of handbrake mechanism has seized on the passenger side. Stupid bloody design that you would have though they would have fixed for the 2018 facelift, but oh no. Gotta have an S650 for that.....
Oh well, car now has a "do not drive" due to the failure for brakes so I need to wait. A cheeky call to Motorsport and Performance has a calliper hopefully on its way to me ASAP.

New GT badge applied yesterday, removal was super easy in the end - i think in the heat, the 3M holding the badge on was melted enough so it just peeled off!

gave the black plastic a bit of a polish too

todays job is a full deep clean and detail for the wedding!

Looks very smart. Enjoy the wedding ❤. I just got my divorce finalised but don't let that put you off 🤣

Taking the car to Stockholm this coming Monday and found out last week that the handbrake was loose because the read calipers have seized… called almost all specialist garages and no one has them in stock. Does anyone have any tips or know anyone that has them please?…

if not, what are the chances of the rear brakes fully seizing during the trip? Ive been avoiding to use the handbrake since i found out so i just park in gear.

thanks in advance

It sounds like you have a manual transmission. If that is the case...
Park in-gear with your front wheels
A) turned toward, and against, the curb (if you are on a slight downhill),
or
B) away from, and against the curb (if you are on a slight uphill).

Of course you sound quite cautious so I'm sure you'll avoid parking on more that slight angle inclines.

Mustang GT Manual 2017 - now sold ☹
it is possible they could be cleaned up enough to last your trip and replace when back. I bought new rear calipers and disks from rockauto.com for the same seized calipers.

I only saw Rilot’s post now with the exact same issue ahah.

GT101 managed to sort me out on the last working day before taking the car on Monday morning. All good now.
Glad you got it sorted. I just replaced the other side as well, just in case it was on its way out too.
