How much extra should I expect to pay for a 2020 Heritage Edition vs a non-HEP car with the same miles and similar history? I am not hung up on buying an HEP car, but I want to find a 2020 with under 10K miles. I plan to drive this one more than the 2018 I sold which only had 3K miles after three years of ownership.

There are several HEP cars available for sale and the pricing fluctuates widely based on miles. Since I will be driving mine, I am fine with a slightly higher mileage car.

I realize it was a $1965 option at the time, but is there any value for the color combo if I keep the car for the long term?

You can go on KBB or other sites, plug in the values they want for car options and mileage and zip code and it’ll give you retail and trade values. I might sell my 2020 shadow black with tech package, leather seats, white stripes, fresh tires and new AC in, Carvana offered me 60k with 15K miles on it. So they would retail it for maybe 65k or something. The HEP adds value but not lots more. Maybe with HEP close to 70k under 10k miles.

20’s with low miles and in excellent shape bring the money. Just is what it is. HE’s bring above that. Go check BAT and you’ll get a decent snapshot of what the market is like on these cars. If you’re going to keep what you’re after for quite a while don’t worry about a few grand here or there. Buy the nicest car you afford. These cars hold there value very well, and the 20’s are even better. Best of luck.

Why are you buying a 20 over other years?
They have the Gen 2 motor and are the latest model year I can buy. Also, I like the color combo of the HEP, but other 2020 colors are not dealbreakers.

So far, the Mach 1 and the DH do not have the same appeal as the GT350.

No question that the Wimbledon White exterior and Guardsman Blue OTT and side stripes look outstanding when ordering the Heritage Edition Package but for me the revised steering rack that was only available on the 2-seat R model was very important.

Shortly after taking delivery of my 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R HEP I decided to drive it back-to-back with my 2018 GT350R Base model.

After just a few minutes of driving each vehicle back-to-back on I-10, it was very clear just how much tramlining was eliminated on the new 2020 GT350R model based on Ford Performance implementing the new revised steering rack which was borrowed from its bigger brother namely the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500.

As far as your question centered around the $1,965 HEP option and whether that option has an impact with respect to increased value V a non-HEP example, the answer is yes.

Trying to determine just how much additional value the HEP adds to any given 2020 GT350/R, that depends on numerous factors such as a 2-seat model V a 4-seat model, odometer reading, condition, chassis number, provenance, number of owners, stock or modified and the list goes on.

Good luck with your search and suggest that your budget will determine just how much access you may have to any of these cool HEP cars!
