Do you have the hood struts or still rocking the prop rod? Mine did hit the Ford Performance hood struts which made the sides pop up a touch. The spot is easy to find and I could clearance it but I just went back to the prop rod for now.
Here's another prime example of the hood with poor fitment. Unless the fender bends in (not possible) the edge of the hood is off and can never fill that gap, it's curved wrong both vertically and horizontally/the mold isn't even right.

that fitment is not good BUT I have to ask. you tried the hood on before you paid to paint it? it fit perfectly before being sprayed?
I fitted my ducktail before I paid a painter to make sure it was what I ordered.

It was mocked up and seemed to fit okay but once tightened down fully it became obvious there was no fitting it right.

Credit card chargeback was made for situations like this. If the product does not meet reasonable expectations for use, then the manufacturer has to make it right. If not, you get your money back.

Yea that’s false. If he never received the hood he could get his money back. But if a consumer wasn’t happy with the quality of their purchase everyone would be asking for their money regardless of the truth.

Yeah, that's not completely true either. You can ask for a charge back on nearly anything. If your request is finally granted or upheld depends on a lot of factors. There's a process that Credit card companies go through once you ask for the charge back. The seller will get their opportunity to to dispute the charge back as well as the consumer presenting their reasons. The CC company then decides if the circumstances meet whatever criteria they have to grant or deny the charge back.
We recently purchased tickets to a play from a nationally known ticket reseller. We did not receive access to the tickets until a few hours before the showtime and they were in a completely different section of the auditorium. We got to see the play but it was a completely different experience than what we paid for. We were granted the charge back in our favor.
That seems reasonably analogous to the OPs situation.

one question that will be relevant to any credit card situation.
when did you actually buy the hood/delivery and when was it painted?

It's been awhile. Doubt I can chargeback. I believe the initial charge for the hood was around 2-27-2025 ish.

Correct. The product is implied to fit and function correctly for the car it’s advertised to fit. If it does not and the manufacturer will not make it right, that’s literally a major reason for the chargeback to exist. I’ve had to do it and it absolutely can be a course of action that works.

There's usually a 90 day window to initiate a charge back. Past that you're SOL unless your CC company has special exemptions or something. It might be worth a phone call.
As a side note, all those adds on TV that allow you to try products free for 90 days, that's why. No charge backs if you miss the window.

Edit, just realized that you said 2025. So I'd say that you're firmly outside the charge back window...

I'm concerned that even if I'm able to dispute it that ikon will just recharge me the cost since they gave a 250$ partial refund after the first contact of issues even after being told that's not going to cover the damages they forced it through instead of replacing the hood. I'm wondering if they did that so if someone goes to charge back they can use it as a basis for denying/fighting chargebacks?

I figured, I'm just hoping this post finds anyone googling about ikon or hoods or anything and it helps save them the money and headache.

Based on your pics, it appears the hood was either damaged in shipping or at the body shop and nobody caught it before it was painted. A decent shop would have notified you of the damage instead of painting over it.

The fender to hood gap is adjustable and there's a lot of room on these fenders to move in/out. The curve of the hood can also be repaired by a good body tech without damaging the paint. You may also be able to have the small dimples removed with a PDR.

Sucks that nobody raised the flag about the damage before it was painted and installed. Would have been much easier to correct before it went into the paint booth.

The small dimples were mentioned (but again ikon refused to replace the hood). My I personally said no to the solution for multiple reasons, it wasn't covered by insurance for the additional time and would have been another 300-400 just for the dimples and it involved coating the entire surface of the hood with bondo. We all know these hood flex ALOT. that much bondo across a big panel would have cracked after the first highway drivw. Outside of that the creases at the front can't be sanded down without going through the metal, hard to show but I tried my best to get an image. And ontop of that with the center hood vent, I shouldn't have to drill holes in it just so it can drain. They designed it to trap water and dirt and made a crease/hollow all along the corners which means to clean the damn think you need a extremely small q, top or scraper or stiff brush and alot of time to get the dirt out. Honestly I was hoping ikon would see this and finally try to make things right but I'm not surprised they don't care in the slightest. At least now when someone googles ikon and mustangs then this shows up and they have a warning, a warning that I wish I had and I would have never bought it if I had known about the issues.

Idk man. I feel like I’m still going to order from them. Granted they may delete reviews as most folks probably do but, a review that’s on a year old part doesn’t really hold much weight in my book. It does suck you’ve had to deal with it but at the same time things do happen. They covered their end and maybe you should have some better on yours as well. I’ll loose a days pay to make sure I’m there when my part comes so I can decline it if need be. Like aforementioned, big parts across state lines is risky business. Always has been and always will be.
