350 is a great car, but the mach 1 is also very very good. The Mach 1 is the successor. Same tremec, similar suspension. Revs almost as high but no flat plane crank vibrations. Great power with better torque down low and still sounds fantastic.

I’d be shocked if that made financial sense for you. Even if the car appreciates as you’re despite you putting miles on it, the interest on the loan, the sales tax, and the warranty are all costs you have to pay. You may take a hit on the mach 1 if you try to sell it too fast too.

Would I rather have a 350 over a mach 1? Yeah I probably would, but its just a car and the cost does matter, and your current car loan has got to be extremely large already.

See, and that’s where I’m at. I love my car dearly, so if it doesn’t make sense, I won’t be doing it. Though I still want to test drive it, and see how the experience is. Then, run the numbers, and see what it comes out to. If it’s outlandish I will walk away, to the point I’m going to bring my daily driver to this test drive, and not my Mach 1, so I HAVE to walk away.

My current car I owe roughly $54-55k on. 2022 fully loaded HP, Elite, Recaro, Nav with 3,500 miles. So yes, I’d probably be starting over in that sense.

That’s what it’s going to come down to, because I’ve looked myself in the mirror and knew this before I bought my Mach even, if I had all the money in the world, I’d own a 2020 350 R fully loaded HEP.

Basically wrapper HEP-R. No idea if the dealer is legit or not

Wow, that’s beautiful. Way more bread than I have in the kitchen though.

If I won the lottery that’s what I’d purchase the first day. Not kidding.

I’m not scared of a little mileage, but even the 2019 R’s with 20k+ I see are still mid 80’s, upper 90’s. Does that sound right? I guess from $79k that’s not a HUGE difference, but at the same time it is.

Yes, the 2019 & 2020 R’s even with some mileage go into the $80’s pretty easily. Under 10-15k miles and they’re in the $90’s all day long. Lower miles than that will be close to, if not in, the six figures. The last 2 model years of the R are the most desirable, outside of the very limited number of 2015 R’s (only 37 of those).

Found one near me, 5,000 miles. 2020 GT350, heritage package, technology package, track package. I love my Mach 1, but I am curious of the difference of the driving experience, from what I read. The GT350 is for sale for around $79,000. I just bought my Mach 1 a few months ago, so I owe $55,000 on it. I don’t think I’d have the balls to actually do it, or that it would make sense financially, but looking for opinions.

P.S. What would I be missing out on looking at a Non-R?

Also, an ESP is a MUST. If I cannot obtain one the whole fantasy dies there.

2020 or bust also for me.
With 5,000 miles on this 2020 GT350 HEP automobile whoever has this HEP in their possession should not have an issue with a test drive and suggest that you would have a great time understanding the difference between your Mach I and this 2020 GT350 HEP therefore what have you got to lose!

Regarding production numbers for the 2020 GT350 HEP 4-seat cars, the FRAP built a total of 535 HEP examples with the highest chassis number being "L0534" and will be interesting to see what the chassis number is for this unit which is located on the Blue chassis badge just above the glove box for this unit?

If I recall correctly the 4-seat HEP cars were offered with 5 options namely the Tech Package, Leather, CF dash, Handling Package and a car cover and personally like the Recaro seats much better whereas the 2-seat HEP cars were offered with just 3 options.

Some of the features that I really liked on these vehicles was the Wimbledon White paint and Guardsman Blue side and OTT racing stripes and course the Blue badging as well.

At an asking price of $79,000 there is definitely some room to move as that is $2,000 more than I paid for my 2020 GT350R HEP brand new.

If you haven't had any seat time in a 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350/R you are in for a treat and getting used to these exotic FPC engines and the revving engine capabilities takes some getting used to.

Recall test driving a number of 2016 Pilot Production GT350/R models back to back in October 2015 at the Sebring Intl Raceway and aside from learning the track the biggest challenge I had was keeping the RPM's up in the high range (7,000 to 8,250 RPM) in order to maximize the full torque of these high-strung FPC engines.

When test driving that 2020 GT350 HEP I would encourage you to engage the active exhaust and also suggest that if you are really interested in purchased that vehicle, get an Oasis Report for that vehicle which may be quite helpful with respect to any possibly warranty work that may or may not have been done.

Lastly, hopefully the original Window Sticker comes with the car along with the 2020 GT350 Owners Kit and that it was ordered with a Shelby GT350 car cover as well?

Good luck going forward!

Well the HE holds value but it’s paint and stickers over the non HE. Same engine and same suspension, but sure looks good. When I was looking back in January I considered one, but did not want to pay the extra premium. The OP needs to know what he can get on trade or selling the M1 to make it work. Also make sure the AC works on a test drive. Did the M1 get the upgraded steering knuckle and hub from the 500 like the 19 and 30 350 got?

Thank you for the cohesive write up!

This specific HEP is fully loaded. It has the tech pack, track pack, Recaros, carbon fiber instrument panel, and car cover. Owners kit would be awesome if it has it! Maybe that’s a reflection of the price because it’s loaded to the gills?

I’m truthfully really excited and if all checks out, financial, etc. I can’t really see myself passing it up.

Aside from the unique and iconic OTT and side stripes the 2020 GT350/R HEP cars have their own distinct chassis series and badging in Blue and hard to put a price on the iconic Wimbledon White paint and Guardsman Blue OTT and sides stripes from back in 1965 that adds a great deal to the look and value of these vehicles beautiful and rare vehicles.

With respect to the revised new steering rack that was borrowed from the 2020 GT500 model, to be clear neither the 2019 GT350 or GT350R received that upgrade and neither did any of the 2020 GT350 4-seat models receive the revised GT500 steering rack upgrade.

It was only the 2020 GT350R model that was fortunate to receive that upgrade.

I’m not sure, I believe it has the same EPAS as the 19-20 GT350 if I remember correctly, so possibly? I do need to know what they’d give on my car. If they can buy me out, it works for me. I have no other debt than my Mach 1, so it would not put me in a bind to pay a little more per month. I will check the AC, good call. Anything else to look out for? Carfax is clean also. I do love the HEP, just looks so beautiful to me.

Thank you for clearing that up, I was unaware if both the Non-R and R got the 500 rack or not. I think still for my case, it’s easier to justify a 2020 as to not get a much older car than my 2022. I would love an R, but it’s out of my price range truthfully for 2019-2020. I think also it would be easier to get an ESP. Does anybody have an idea who’s still selling ESP’s for these?

@PP0001 Also, it scares the shit out of me to replace the carbon fiber wheels or wing. Out of my tax bracket haha.

Talk to Granger. That’s where I bought mine. You have to select the lighting and key packages separately though. As an FYI. Ziegler should be able to do it too.
