Not always. modern cars are very finniky and something like a battery past its best can cause all sorts of odd problems.
A mate who has his own garage was telling me when ever you get a car in with a fault code and no apparent running problems take a note of the code and clear the codes. He recently had a Renault in that he had replaced the crank position sensor on as well as a couple of other sensors over a 4 month period and it turned out it actually needed a new battery. He had tested the battery and it passed but when he spoke to the Renault dealer they said it would be the battery as they had notice from Reanult saying this was a problem and battery needed to be replaced at 70% life.
Has your car had a decent run recently ? If not take if for a 40 mile run including some fast road.
Just because your car starts does not mean a battery is not knackered.
