Although Ford indicates to be heading in a new direction; Ford CEO Jim Farley was quoted saying "We live in the future... (we may do a few of those) ...but we're going in kind of a new, refreshed direction which is very much looking forward to a different standard.", there appears to be some wiggle room.
To me, saying BOSS vs Z28 sounds more exciting and menacing than saying Dark Horse vs 1LE.
Only time will tell.

you drive around with 16 gallons of explosive liquid under your ass. Its hardly any different.
It is very different.
There my be a lot of things that can crack in a car and let gasoline leak out, but it still doesn't burn without an ignition source. Then, the fire department only has to put out the fire once.
In an EV, the impact usually is the ignition source, and it's likely to reignite once the firemen are gone.

Liquid gasoline is not explosive. I didn't realize this before, but liquid gasoline doesn't even burn. I looked it up because I wanted to be sure I had it correct.

The vapor evaporating from gasoline can burn or explode, though.

It is interesting to think about. Knowing the behavior of gasoline, I might be nervous about it if I hadn't lived my entire life driving and being around ICE vehicles. I remember I had a carbureted classic vehicle with a fuel leak at one time. I tried to stop it, but it continued to have a slow drip that I was never able to stop. I put at least hundreds of miles on that car with the fuel leak happening and it never caught on fire. It was dripping on top of the engine and it must have just evaporated from engine heat. And there must have been enough air flow to keep the fumes from concentrating too much.

This thread is about the seventh generation Camaro, how about we keep it that way?
We need a more interesting topic.

95 post so far on this topic seems pretty interesting to me.
Please go ahead and post something new and on topic. I am a potential buyer for sure. I liked a lot about my 2021.

I've been told if you throw a lit cigarette into gas it'll go out. Never tried.

Here's a photo of my 2021 LT1 I sold this spring. Great car. Loved it. I think Ford needs a 6.2 liter engine in the Mustang.

Beautiful car. We still have our 2010 2ss which has been a great car, but our eagerly awaiting the new rendition of the Camaro.
I’m tempering my expectations, but I would absolutely love it if they picked up the generation two styling cues, but I doubt they will.

I had a new 85 Z28. I loved that car; it was a real slut magnet. I sold it 5 years later and cried watching it drive off, but I'm glad I sold it in the end.
I don't know if I would buy another one.

Had an F body (catfish) Camaro for a short time after high school. Slow by today’s standards but I really liked it. The newest generation (I count 2010-2023 as the same even though there were some design changes over the years) looks great from the outside and performs really well, I could never get over the visibility from the cockpit. It handles more like a sports car right off the shelf (the Alpha platform is really good) vs the Mustang which is really more of a GT car (at least out of the box). Both have their pros and cons, and I’ve said it before I almost bought a Camaro instead of a Mustang (twice). The visibility was the deciding factor, all other factors when I did my comparison were pretty much even.
