I got a Steeda spoiler and need to have it drilled and installed - what is a ballpark good quote? I got quoted 1k and 6 hours of labor by one shop, and around 100 and an hour-ish by another. From watching videos, drilling and installing doesn't take that long. Feeling like the first shop either is greedy or is the walk price and they don't want to deal with it.

I should note that my car has the spoiler delete. So no holes.

Both prices seem high for what you need to have done IMO.

Have you considered giving it a go yourself? It seems like you’d be able to stick it in place with 3M two-sided tape and mark your holes for drilling. Measure 3X to confirm you’re good with positioning and then drill.

I could yeah, but not comfortable with it.

The shops don't want to buy you a new trunk lid either so they are quoting you high to cover themselves. I guess they aren't comfortable doing it either.

an hour seems perfectly reasonable to me. 6 hours is a "go away, i don't really want to do this job" price.

That was one quote, another shop quoted me around 100 for an hour and change. That seems more reasonable.

Honestly I'd just do it myself. Even if you fuck up the hole a little bit, it will be covered by the spoiler. Tape everything, go slow, it won't be bad.

Now if you don't already have the tools, then yeah I'd probably take it in too.

For $100, I'd be worried the shop will throw a new tech at it. If I'm really concerned about finish and quality work, I'd expect to pay the extra money. Cheap isn't always a good thing.

Yeah i don’t have the tools lol. I did think about that too, but they knew what they were talking about, have good reviews, and just put a wing on a Z06 so I feel fairly confident.

This^^. I’d take my own chances too. It would be very aggravating to pay a lot of money to a shop, only to discover that they did a half-bOOty job.

This isn’t anything extremely difficult to do here. Proper positioning is going to be most important. Once that’s done, mark, drill and secure with supplied hardware.
