I forgot to mention that I also removed the turbo and enlarged the four holes in the turbine flange, so that the turbo seats properly onto the exhaust flange without hanging up.

For those that may not remember, I couldn’t seat the turbo on the flange before with the support bracket installed and there was about a 1/4” gap on the engine side. Now it sits flush just like it should .

Yesterday, I circled back and applied heat shrink to all boost/vacuum lines running to the wastegates and VaporWorx fuel system controller‘s MAP sensor. I did this to clean up the raw cut ends of the silicone/fiberglass lined heat sleeves for a nicer look.

The photos of the line routing that I posted a couple of days ago weren’t an actual representation of their final placement. Half of the lines need to be sandwiched between the radiator and intercooler, while the other half needed to be fastened to the radiator shroud, so that I can make the connection to the boost reference port that will be welded into the turbo outlet cold side piping.

With all of that done, I mounted the turbo for the final time. I also test fit the stainless steel braided flexible portions of the brake lines and the length is going to be perfect.

I sure hope not. Karma has been all over me like a cheap suit for quite a while now. I need to start rolling some 7s and 11s like craps and winning for a change. 😁

Man, you are in the home stretch. I see all that you have done and I think back to how frustrated I was with my initial install on my Whipple. Now I think I could do a Whipple in about 15 hours I've had mine on and off so many times, but initially it took me several weeks. What you have done here makes the Whipple installation look like building a cabin out of Lincoln Logs compared to building the Death Star out of Lego's.

It's like bad golf shots. It's all about perspective. If you duff a shot and it's 30 yards closer to the whole, you are THAT much closer. You can be pissed that you aren't 180 yards closer, or you can be happy that you ARE in fact closer to the whole and move on to the next shot. You'll get 'er done and it'll be totally worth it in the end. Except for that no AC thing. I can't get passed that, lol.

I’ll just have my wife hold a fan on me while I’m driving 😆.
lol, community standards won’t let me tell you what my wife would say to that!

…but it rhymes with “eat a bag of bricks” 🙈🙉🙊

In other news, I’d like to take this opportunity to point out the issue I’ve been having with finding the correct oil filter adapter plate and/or sensor adapter to supply oil to the turbo since deleting the factory oil cooler. Let’s get into it!

- MMR adapter (red anodized), thread pitch is wrong (although product description says it fits 2011-2021 GT).

- Tom’s Off-road adapter (raw aluminum similar to MMR piece), is the right thread pitch and uses an o-ring like the factory oil pressure sensor, although the hex portion seats flat against the engine, so I’m wondering if this may leak).

- Evil Energy oil filter adapter plate (black with raw aluminum fittings), that was supplied with the oil cooler, is universal and the hole for the stud that bolts it to the engine is too small. Trying to enlarge the hole would probably be a bad idea, as it would be too thin and may fail, when torquing the stud down. A possible workaround here would be to have the factory stud shortened and welded back together, although the weld would have to be flat to allow it to fit through the hole in the adapter plate.

- Improved Racing adapter plate had all fittings to accept the -10AN oil cooler lines supplied with the Evil Energy oil cooler, however, it doesn’t have an 1/8 NPT port to be utilized as an oil feed for my turbo, but it will fit with the Improved Racing stud and extension adapter. Using this adapter plate would require me to go back to using the Tom’s Off-road oil pressure sensor adapter to supply oil to the turbo.

Just putting this info. out there, in case anyone else is looking to use either of the adapter plates or sensor adapters. The factory thread size and pitch on the stud is M22 X 1.5 btw.

It appears the Mach 1 has a totally different housing. Does yours look like the bottom one?

I’ll check in the morning and post pics.
allow me to translate for the single guys in the room…my wife said, “that’s enough playing in the garage so get in here and feed the kid(s), do the dishes (and/or) vacuum the couch” 🫠
