G'day Mach1'ers. Just curious if anyone in here has installed the Mantic Ceremetallic twin disc kit?

Won't be long before my stock clutch isn't going to put up with the G3R anymore, so curious if anyone has experience, or issues with this clutch.

Thanks

Hello. I don't have much to contribute; however, I follow EarsPOV on YouTube (mostly to see the issues the GT350 Voodoo engine is causing due to its poor vibration harmonics design). He has a video giving tips on his clutch experience after destroying two 3160 transmissions.

This video is where things start going south.

Here is his video on the tips:

Hopefully it saves you money. Perhaps you can reach out to him and ask about that particular clutch.

Just ordered one for a CPC 350. All the input I've gotten, it will be much sharper than stock, and if street driven, should last. It's got a lightened flywheel, so starts are going to require more finesse, but it's supposed to be easier than the spec I currently have in the car. I track my car, so obviously it's just a wear item.

The folks putting it all back together have highly recommended the clutch. They put it in almost everything, and rarely have failures.

Full disclosure, I have some other extenuating circumstances for why I'm using the mantic. But I don't think you can go wrong with it.

What gears did he break?

I had a Spec Super twin in my 2017 . Never had a problem with it. I liked that they also use a billet pressure plate and sprung hub discs.
Mantic seems to be the only brand that specifically makes a kit for the MACH1

Yeah I would never use a clutch system that doesn’t have sprung hub discs. There is too much shock going through the input shaft , especially with a power adder. The TR3160 really wasn’t designed to support supercharger power anyway.

You should be able to get any 23 spline kit. I'm 99% certain the M1 is a 23 spline.
It is indeed a 23 spline, unlike the 26 spline version in the GT350.

I belive it was 3rd. Not sure on the 2nd transmission. He ended up going with a Kalimer 3160 stage 3 with McLeod clutch. They, Kalimer, claim GT350 tranny already have a 26 spline input shaft whereas the Mach1 and DH need to be upgraded from 23.

That's what i was expecting the 3160 is notorious for losing third with boost. Just didn't to have to sit through a video to see

I wonder if Shelby does anything (aside from a clutch) to the 3160 for the Supersnake R. They seem to think it’s good for 3.0 Whipple torque even on track.

Would like to hear how that car or even the regular Supersnake holds up to road racing. Never hear the owners posting anything about it.

I know Fathouse has the T56 swap as on option on their site.

I’m sure a Calimer Stage 3 is in my future. Good thing too with the Mantic clutch is that the discs can later be swapped out for 26 spline
