Anyone attempt to run this AWE Exhaust setup?

Looks as if the difference between the Touring and the Track are the rear mufflers, which is why the Touring doesn't drone and the Track does. Both have the mid placed "bullet resonators", I'm curious if anyone has ran the Touring without the bullet resonators, which would essentially just be an H-pipe mid ran out to the rear. I ask because my current rig is a Borla S-Type with the H-pipe mid and it is raspy as all get out and I hate it. Far too much trumpet. When I attempt to add any mid level resonator it improves the tone, but gets too quiet. I've tried 3 mid level resonators now - the flowmaster super 10 (awesome deep tone, but drone) - The Blackwidow Race (far too high pitched) and lastly the magnaflow dual in and out - great tone, but too quiet inside the cabin.
I want the Track exhaust without the drone, so i'm wondering if this would work. more than likely not and the mid level race bullets on the AWE system are what help generate the sound, but I thought I would ask.

Ever think about adding headers? I have kooks headers with the magnaflow 11386 resonator and stock catback and I absolutely love this setup. It's nice and civil during light throttle but opens up nicely with an unmistakable melody that headers produce without rasp or drone.

Interesting. I have the s-type with the x-pipe the system came with and I have no drone and no rasp. In fact wherever I go I get comments on how awesome my car sounds: dealership, tire shop, car shows they all love it. It is the 2.5 inch convertible set up not the 3 inch maybe that makes a difference.

Not to be rude but you are suffering from delusions if you don’t think that your car is raspy with that setup. It’s a known issue. Post a clip of high RPM - your car sounds like a NASCAR - pure rasp

Well that was rude. Neither my friends nor I are delusional. Maybe I don’t drive as hard as you. My car sounds great. Beauty is in the ears of the beholder.

I really didn’t mean it that way.
But I stand by what I said - the Borla S Type with an X pipe is even more raspy than an H pipe. Just because you get compliments doesn’t me it isn’t raspy. I get compliments on mine all the time. Downshifts sound like a trumpet. It’s just not a good sounding system in my opinion. But if you like it, great.

Sorry but no. See my video above. That was done in my neighborhood and as you can see I didn’t travel far. Rpms never got over 3000 and I have an Hpipe. Which is less rasp. He’s running and XPipe - way more rasp.

Yea, with a resonator in the mid section the system doesn’t sound bad, it’s too quiet though. I’m just gonna pull the whole thing off and go with an AWE touring system. Borla on these cars just doesn’t sound good. I had a Charger before the stang and the Borla sounded great on it.

I dunno, first time i redlined mine with windows down it made my ears ring for a lil bit. These cars are pretty well insulated from sound i guess.
