For those who procharged or GSS, did it fix the low end torque issue?

Just as the title says, I am 3 years in and thinking of boosting this year. I would like to use a centrifugal supercharger, but I want to make sure it fixed the low end torque issue.

They don't make boost at low rpms so no it doesn't.

but what do you mean by low end torque? What rpm? The midrange will see improvements

Agreed. If low end torque is the goal, a PD blower like Whipple or Maggie is the way.

The lack of low end torque was never a issue, just a characteristic. If you are talking about the low rpm bucking, thats tuner related, wengerd does a great job of mitigating it

If your car is a 10 speed auto, this is less of a problem for you because you will in the right part of the power band once you step down on the accelerator and get to the top of any gear and subsequent gear changes.

However, a positive displacement blower like a Whipple or TVS2650 will enhance torque production in the lower rpms as stated by Joshinator99.

If you're in the right gear, is there really an issue?

Gt350's don't have 10 speed autos.

Maybe gear down to 4.11/4.56 etc. Cheaper than a blower.

The low end torque issue is how flat the car is until 4k. If a 350 is at 2500 and you stab the throttle, there is nothing there. So you wait and wait. Then it takes off like a rocket ship.

I like the Whipple, but it is insane down low. Blows the tires off all over the place. I know I am goldilocksi'ing this shit. Just looking for the right balance.

Not the best comparison charts but I wanted to find two that made close to the same peak HP

There's a huge difference in torque at 3k (100lb-ft) but at 4k they are pretty close.

In a perfect world you'd have two cars running the same amount of boost, tuned by the same tuner, on the same dyno...whipple car would be higher with an aftermarket tune.

Top is Procharger and bottom is Whipple

You just have to decide if you would rather have the POTENTIAL for better low end acceleration at the times you are able to put the power to the ground, versus the same amount of higher end power with better low end drivability. FWIW, I have no regrets about going centrifugal, even though there are times I wish there was more power down low once in a while.

With reliability issues with the GT350 5.2 motor, I would think the centrifugal supercharger would complement the high reving nature of GT350 without the add stress of more torque in the lower RPMS.

Additionally, use of the car is key in this consideration. If roll racing is your thing, Centri seems best for a GT350. If Digs with a drag radial is your thing, Positive Displacement blower provided you have traction.
