How is everyone doing this? I went from the front of the brace and it was super tight and when putting it back it stopped half way down and felt like it was binding up in the tube. It has always had this "hump" to go over at the very bottom of putting it back in, but now it's worse feeling than ever. Sliding it in now, I can feel/hear the edge of the dispstick scratching the inside of the tube.

Suffice it to say, this sucks. Is there a solution to this or is this just how it is for everyone?

Ps: I'm even happier I did the sound tube delete. I don't know how it would be possible at all with that in the way too.

I go in front of the brace also. No right way or wrong way though. To feed it back in I also guide it in holding it near the bottom of the stick and feed it in gently a few inches at a time.

I struggled with this at first too. The “hump” that you’re feeling is the dipstick bending to go down the bent tube. Try not putting your finger in the dipstick handle hole during insertion. Once the dipstick is engaged, just let it twist as needed. Having a finger in the hole keeps it from naturally twisting as it bends. Also, if your read is like mine, the oil level looks slightly different on each side of the stick. Just average the two readings.

This was the sort of response I was needing. Thank you!

I'll keep my finger out of the hole when I put it back in from now on. (The jokes just write themselves in here lol)

Yes, my read is the same. Different on both sides of the stick. One side is usually smeared and difficult to make a confident determination of the oil level, while the other side will not be smeared and reads in range where it ought to be. In my mind, the smeared side of the stick was always the result of dragging it up that bent tube. One side touches the tube, the other doesn't.

Ok, stop. Putting a finger in the hole and not touching the sides is more than I or anyone else wants to know about your issue.

LOL!

Lol my skin is thick enough. I don't have an issue with the jokes, they were inevitable.
