My AC died for the 3rd time this summer. Want to guess, HP hose or Compressor?

Ford is picking up the cost through my ESP. Also Ford was called. My impression was Ford is aware but there is not enough of a problem for them to be concerned about the issue.

Hello; In that case it is sensible to allow them to keep replacing parts. Probably ought to keep a good record of the events. Documentation of the issues from well before the warranty expires may help. If ford has not already started a case file for you that might be a way to go.

So how does one start a case file with Ford?

Hello; let me call out to @Cobrajet as i think he has detailed the process. It is my understanding Ford has personel at a level above the dealerships. A distric manager perhaps? Someone who can follow a customers problems. Some sort of case file can be started which in effect gets an ongoing issue documented before a warranty expires. I have not done the process personally.

Almost all compressors come prefilled with the correct amount. Don’t add more if it says that.

Dump out what’s in your compressor when you remove it into a measuring cup. Put that much of new oil into your new compressor. Take sure your new compressor is empty before you do this. You don’t want to overfill the system.

I'd into consideration the listed refrigerant oil capacity is for a dry or new system. In any HVAC/R system, oil tends to migrate to the lowest pressure/temperature point. So, there can be some residual oil remaining in the evaporator coil, the accumulator and the suction lines. Too much oil can cause compressor damage, also. I'd likely do what BrakeFade says in his post. The amount may be close to Ford's specs.

Thanks guys any help is deeply appreciated I'm replacing evaporator coil, the accumulator and the suction lines and will be looking into the compressor as it's been idle due to the refrigerant leakage from the evaporator. I decided to go with Motorcraft since the aftermarket wasn't lining up correctly. we'll find out when all the parts show up this week.🙄😬
