Isn't this a Mustang forum ? Where members share , discuss , suggest ideas about our Cars ..... Is it possible to stay on the subject matter. A misspelled word does not warrant a post.
I'm sure there are Language Arts Forums you can join (or maybe start one ), where members can critique , discuss , share, compare spelling popularity trends , analyze variations , and trends for different spelling which reflects their present popularity.
The OP I'm sure wants discussion on his problem , not correcting Spelling / Grammer which some evidently excel at , and some like me just get by.
My apologies OP
I hope your getting resolution to you electrical problem , and hope the contents of you post / threat you started has given insight and ideas as forums are intended to in there proper context. Excluding this post.
I realize that proficiency in English seems to be a lost art, and I generally don't critique others' misuse. I was simply agreeing with @MAGS1. No offense intended. I'll stop if you will.

Greetings,

I can't believe what my Ford Dealer is telling me!!

I have a 2022 Mustang GT Premium w/ Manual transmission. Stock, except for suspension mods and short throw shifter.
My car is only driven on weekends, its stored for the winter, and currently it has 5400 miles on it. It will be 3 years old October 25th.
I have had no problems with it since I bought it 3-years ago

In early July, out of the blue, I started to get on my Ford phone app that my battery was going into sleep mode (Paraphrasing) to save power.
At about the same time I was having key fob issues too. The car would not detected either one of my fobs to start my Mustang.
I replace both key fob batteries and that problem stopped. However, the sleep mode continued so I brought the car in and Ford decided to replace the battery with a new one. It was fine for two weeks and then the sleep mode crap started again. They ran a 24 hour electronic test, it passed, and I was told my key fobs were to close to the car when parked, and it was draining my battery as the car was trying to communicate with the fobs. So I move the Key Fobs well into my house.

Fast forward 6-weeks to this weekend. No key fob issues, no sleep mode issues. I was out driving my Mustang and all my stereo speakers just stopped working. Radio unit was on, it was not in mute, and there was no sound, no matter how high I turned up the volume. Here is were I cant believe my ears. After 6 hours in their service department today they deemed my battery was so low that it started to shut down certain electrical functions on my car, even while driving it.

I said its a brand new battery that you just installed 6-weeks ago. How could this be? I was told that once the batter was recharged to 100% in their shop my stereo speakers started to work again. What I was told is that I am not driving my car enough to recharge the battery to 100%. I told them again that I drive my Mustang every weekend in the summer, and that I average probably 150 miles each weekend. I was told that is not enough, and I also need to drive it on week days too. By doing this it would keep my batter fully charged. I was also told that there are so many electronic functions that these new cars have that they wear the batteries down even when they are parked. This is the dumbest thing I ever heard. They are keeping my Mustang over night to see if everything works in the morning including my speakers.

So the fix for this is to drive my Mustang every day to eliminate the battery sleep mode, and other electrical problems, like stereo speakers not working. I have a 2024 Trailblazer my wife drives maybe twice a week, and I have a 2025 Colorado pick up that I drive during the week. Neither vehicle has had any issue like my Mustang.

Please tell me that I am not nuts for not believing this bullshit.

Thanks in advance Edgemere..............
Well, as bizarre as it sounds, I believe there's merit to what they're telling you. I have a '21 with 18k and it's not a daily. There are times it will sit for weeks and there are times I'll drive it short distances a few times a week. I had to replace my battery as well, which, for a short period, resolved the sleep mode notifications in the app.

After replacing the battery, the notifications were very infrequent, but after a short while, same thing, notifications were back. So I made a QD pigtail using a high current Anderson connector and keep a tender on the battery. But, prior to doing the QD connector, the battery always had plenty of charge to start the engine.

Even still, when the car sits for a period, even though the battery is completely charged, I'll get a notification that it's in sleep mode. I don't find this alarming, as there are systems in the car that are always energized (modem, FOB transceiver, etc.).

During the first 15 to 18 months of having the car, it was a daily and I never received the notifications. I had a 2019 F250 that did the very same thing.

It is and as I stated it’s a pet peeve of mine. Sometimes in the broader context of things, spelling and grammar matter. In the word referenced, it doesn’t really matter but I have seen on this very site where words have been misspelled or misused and it throws people off. Not trying to be an ass but how words are used and spelled does matter a majority of the time. That’s all

I'm sorry .
No apology necessary. Don't sweat the small shit. Like you said, this is a Mustang forum, not an English class. 🤠

Thanks to all who have taken the time and effort to answer my post. I was unavailable for several days because of a family funeral out of town. So my apologies for replying so late.

I have talked with 3-Ford dealers, 2-of whom I have had a long term relationship with, and I am being told the same thing by all of them. My driving my Mustang GT about 100 miles or so, each weekend is not enough to recharge my battery to capacity.

It is sitting 5-6 days and the ongoing drain from 24 modules causing a parasitic draw eventually brings my battery to low levels where the BMS starts shutting down electrical functions on my Mustang. I was just shocked when it shut down my stereo speakers. I still have a hard time believing this.

I just wonder if the Camaro and Challenger car owners have the same stuff happening to them. Ford did tell me that this same issue effects all of their cars and trucks. I have since installed a permanent batter tender to my Mustang and I will keep it plugged in during the Summer months and during Winter storage.

Makes me want to sell my Mustang and get something different. Maybe a Camaro?

Thanks again,
Edgemere

It would be easier to fit a battery tender.............

This is a very true statement. My battery went dead at 36,100 miles, and the car was 44 months old lol.. I had religiously put it on a CTEK battery tender whenever it was parked for more than a week. I didn't even bother trying to get Ford to replace it, as I was going to install an AGM battery anyway.

2018 original owner and battery - 40k miles, no issues with original battery… no battery tender on it either.

It’s strange how some have premature battery failures or batteries that don’t last and others have an original battery with miles and many years still going strong.

My speakers haven't cut out like that mid-trip, but I have had several times where they are cut out when turning on the car. Power cycling the radio has always restored them. I'd bet that charging the battery in the shop was not responsible for restoring your speaker function, but merely power cycling it when moving it into the shop fixed it.

If you live in cold place statistically your battery is not going last as long as a warmer climate , I think for many this is the issue although the OP seems to have a parasitic drain beyond the factory ones . A good auto electrician should be able to isolate this if it is the case . Go to a specialist pro Auto electrician .
