Is there an argument to be made that the 2016 GT350R is more better in some way than the later versions?

We actually got the factory good years to work well back then for autocross and twisties, but we really cranked the pressure up to get them to work. The much bigger issue was the fred flinstone brakes, those were almost criminal to have been put on those cars. Couple pass’s and we’d smoke the front brakes pretty easily. Even the five lug upgrade wasn’t much of an upgrade.
agreed…but the local hardware store brass-fitting boost control was a game changer, for the 5.0 crowd 🤪

i knew I liked you, but didn’t know why until today…I also had a GLH but with an S back in the 90s, along with a Shelby Charger, and a Shelby Daytona Z up until 1995 when my first wife had other plans 🤦‍♀️
I really liked my '86 GLH but the ultimate was the GLH-S model and pretty cool that you were able to own a rare "S" model and if I recall correctly the S model had an additional ~30 HP over my example!

I honestly have never owned a front wheel drive car. Drove a few and I'll keep my front engine rear drive. I suppose I could be coerced into a rear engine rear drive.......

That said in my shop I have my Son's TC that is getting a new engine and a turbo kit. Should be fun, but I never want one. A 70's pinto is more my style for a light weight fun car.

I thought fwd was valid until someone told me there's never been a purpose built sports car with fwd. Every performance fwd car have been commuter cars with performance added... 😞

For those of us that own and drive a 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition, I have to respectfully disagree.

Nothing wrong with 0-60 MPH in 4.8 seconds, quarter mile time in 13.3 seconds, braking from 70 to 0 MPH in 142 feet, skid pad of 1.02 G and a top speed of 1 MPH short of 170 MPH and a curb weight of ~3,070 pounds.

Lastly, the CTR LE has one of the best manual transmissions that I have ever rowed along with the wonderful Tremec TR-3160 in the Shelby GT350/R models and of course the outstanding Ricardo -speed manual transmission in the 1st Gen Ford GT model.

We like what we like but I'd take a 70's pinto or vega over one of these.
If going Japanese I'd take a Datsun 240Z.

I just don't like front drive, front wheels are for steering.

Understand and appreciate what you like but for someone to suggest that all front wheel drive vehicles are commuter cars is just not correct.

I never said that. I have many friends who love the front drive performance cars. I appreciate them just not my cup o tea.

I think it boils down to 2 things. When I floor it I expect the rear to step out and I don't expect the steering wheel to twist in my hand.

I know equal length half shafts eliminate most of the torque steer but I can still feel it.

I find it interesting that after I responded to another individuals post with respect to front wheel drive vehicles and their performance attributes, it took you very little time to respond back a post that did not involve you.

With respect to your previous post that surrounded the '87 Mustang model that I campaigned back in 1988 which came with oversteer, pretty much speaks to how little knowledge you have with respect to certain vehicles and their handling characteristics.

Time to move on from your ongoing nonsense!

I think it's possible Ford also tuned the EPAS on GT350/R to allow more feedback from the road.

The Mach 1 HP style wheels/tires I have on my 2017 are wider than the tires from the 2016 GT350 (305 vs. 295). I have similar TW rating Super Sport vs. Pilot Sport 4S tires. The 2017 PP1 doesn't tramline at all. Kinda sucks in my opinion. I realize Ford got a lot of complaints about tramlining, but I didn't mind it.
I️ have A GT 500 that tramlines when I️ run cup2 tires. I️ have tracked the car once and the tires make a difference. For regular street driving I️ switch Nitto 555 to prevent tramlining. I️ know we are talking about a 350, but thought it was relevant.

What nonsense?

I thought 87 mustangs had engineered understeer, unless you are talking throttle induced oversteer. Did they even have that much power?

Yes, lets move on

Sport Cup 2 tires were the worst for tramlining the Nitto 555 were way better but the 4's are the best depending on the road very little tramlining
