For those considering a GT350/R, what is your experience driving a stick? Will this be your 1st stick car? Have you not owned or driven a stick in years?

I'll start, I'm 53 years old and I've never not owned a stick since I was 16 years old. My wife's / family cars have had automatics but, I've always had a stick.

I am 53 too, been a while since I have drove a std, but I think its like riding a bike you never really forget. My wife can only drive a automatic even after trying to show her how to do it. It don't matter, she's NEVER going to drive it anyway LOL. :D

Funny that you mention that. I taught my wife how to drive and it was with a stick. She's occassionaly driven my stick cars since we've had automatics for her since we've been able to afford 2 cars. We talked about the GT350/R and I told her it's going to be at least 520 HP. She's driven my current stick with 306 HP and her current automatic has 328 HP but, this is going to be an entirely different kind of beast. She's of course going to want to drive it to work at least once to show up her boss's boss's boss and his Camaro but, I told her it was back to the parking lot 1st to make sure she can handle this beast.

at the age of 14 I started out driving a "standard" on a 1968 Mustang Fastback -w- 5.8 Cleveland & t-5. Then a "Stick" on a 1984 Mustang Foxbody -w- a 5.8 Windsor & t-5. Now a "manual" 2011 GT Premium Custom with the OEM ford 6 speed.

I've learned to love the shifter....simply because it keeps my wife from driving it. ;-)

I have had 9 manual transmission cars. 7 Mustangs, 1 Thunderbird turbo coupe and 1972 240z (first car I owned that my parents bought me. Wish I still had that car!!). I learn to drive a manual on a 1978 F150. Loved driving that truck!
