Well, sorry to let you guys know.....this is not my first Mustang nor first car that lends itself to mods. I have had 8 Jeeps of different years. 6 mustangs....this is my first Gen 3 coyote. 3 Corvettes. And more motorcycles than I care to admit.

Again I am posting this because in the end, I can search this site....I know how to as I am on most forums for tons of things, but I am obviously late to the game on the S550 and the amount of knowledge is pretty exhausting. I was thinking the Ford Power Pack might be nice due to the fact it is a kit that has everything and it is Ford....however, it is pretty limiting whereas if I went with some aftermarket names for tuner and other things they can be used if I choose to do more later. Really doubt it, if I am going to boost anything at this point it will be my 95 Cobra....not daily and I love working on it anyway.

I am appreciating all the feedback....you all are a wealth of knowledge!!!!!!
I have a 2018 GT and my original mod while it was still under warranty was the Ford Performance Power Pack + AWE Touring Catback exhaust. My dyno yielded 441rwhp/394 torque on 93 octane, but it could run on 91.

I have the Ford Performance tune pack for my 2020 that came with the GT350 airbox, throttle body, and a tune. With the numbers Ford provided I believe it basically bumps a regular GT up to the little extra power the Bullitt got. I have had this kit on my 2020 since year 1, and love love love it.

Was just the right amount of extra power, moreso thru tuning, for daily driving and reliability. I would say check it out!

I didn't want a tune from one of these after market guys, where you read about something not quite being right/ever corrected/some niggling issue persisting. The Ford Performance tune has been literally flawless for my car.
Did that kit on my 2016. Ditto. Excellent street car tune.

I guess another thing I am getting at....used GT 350 air intakes are the same price or more than a brand new JLT or Steeda intake (looking at similar styles to the GT350.....open vs closed). Why pay so much for a used one when I can have new.

Any input on this....is it worth shelling out the extra for the OEM stuff in this case?

Also I am really liking the ported Bullitt intake manifold for the GT....any input on this?

Consider looking at a PMAS CAI. They have two versions (one similar to the factory GT350 CAI and the other is a fender mount which locates the filter to the lower fender for a cooler air charge). I run the standard version of the PMAS (no tune required MAF sensor) and a Soler Performance ported factory Bullitt TB. Both have worked very well for me.

I have used PMAS in the past as well as JLT....good results with both and feel both are quality.

I also get it....with the newer and newer designs of the air intakes....engineers optimize them for best performance....but I can't help but look at the GT350 intake vs the GT intake and say...well if they put an open intake on a GT350 shouldn't an open one be better for the GT as well??? Is my reasoning off....I mean I am not an engineer or a racer (in my head I am....but it has never been proven in the real world) but logic supports my theory.

I have no experience with that, but have heard many people say that the factory GT airbox is best (cooler air charge) with just adding a drop in K&N filter. Now the PMAS fender mount would likely produce the coolest air charge.

The only reason I went PMAS was to gain clearance for my nitrous solenoids, as the GT350 CAI interfered with fitting the solenoids.

Right...and that's why I stated I am sure that the engineers make the best one....but still....why is the intake on the GT350 or for that matter the Bullitt a closed intake. The Bullitt is a Coyote motor with a GT350 open air intake....and with the other mods and tuning from the factory makes more HP than the GT. So what am I missing????

I have no clue there. I’m sure someone will
chime in and shed some light on it for you.

One more thing about the GT350 IM. If you buy a used one, make sure the IMrC runners are functioning and the rods are still intact (not broken).
