Dodge CEO: Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats brand halos, limited production rumors false

BERKLEY, MI- Dodge CEO and President Tim Kuniskis seemed to have two things on his mind when unveiling the 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat Wednesday in Metro Detroit.

Obviously, the first was to unveil the all-new 707-horsepower vehicle. The second was to quash reports of the company only selling a limited amount of Hellcat models, which Kuniskis views as halo vehicles for the century-old brand.

"That rumor about the 1,200 cars really upset a lot of people," he said Wednesday during the unveiling of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat at Vinsetta Garage in Berkley. "I want to get as many of the cars out on the road, I want to get as many people talking about Dodge and excited about Dodge as possible."

Following the announcement of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, rumors started swirling online about the vehicle being a limited-run of 1,200 units.

Kuniskis said Dodge doesn't know how many of either of the Hellcat models the Auburn Hills-based automaker will produce, but it won't be limited to 1,200 cars.

"I don't know what the life cycle's going to be," he said. "I was very clear when we launched the Challenger: If you missed the first muscle car area, don't miss this one. I don't know how long this could last, so take advantage of it now."

Where are you getting these numbers from man, I can promise you they are not accurate and a simple googling to verify will tell you that while dodge had originally planed to only make 1200 hellcat challys for 15 they came out recently and said there would not be limit to how many cats they will build for 15MY

I was in Huffines Dodge in Plano TX and saw the email with my own eye sent to the General Sale manager from Chrysler, it said 305 Challengers and 508 Chargers for 2015 or very close to those number...all the allowance are finished unless they get more parts. I ordered two, one from 4 Star Jeep and Huffines and was told I should not hold my breath on getting one this year.

Time to clean up a thread...can we all STOP talking about hellcats and get back on topic?

I have my name in to 3 dealerships, when order banks open or they get more info I will:

1) see who calls first, if they offer MSRP...done searching if not:
2) call the other two dealers...if MSRP...search over, if not:
3) start with a 50 mile radius of houston calling every dealer I can until I find one at MSRP...if I still can't:
4) broaden the search radius until I find one or it gets too far from home and I just wait til the frenzy and markups stop...

I want to order a GT350R but if they ask over a 5k Premium, then Im out and will go with the GT350...Im hoping they revise the color options and add the liquid Blue...if not Silver of some shade will be my next choice, I am not sure but did I read somewhere that if you get the full option package you must get the leather? I would love the fully load car w/o the leather. I think that cloth recaro seat looks great.

Question..? In one of the videos I heard someone say that every fender is different on the GT 350 then the regular S550 GT mustang? does this mean the fenders are wider? I know the fronts are different because of the air vents but are the back fenders wider? anyone know?
