This seems extremely obvious to me, I’m surprised it’s still in discussion. The warranty states if any emission devices are removed, the warranty is voided. We don’t have to like it or agree it, but that is the terms OP agreed too.
If I was a betting man I wouldn’t put my money on OP being SOL

I agree that the OP's odds are long, but I did take a look at the actual warranty language. It states:

What Is Not Covered by This Limited Warranty:

E) Failures caused by:​

(3) tampering with the vehicle or the emissions system and components;​

A failure does have to be tied back to the removal rather than it being an automatic default by removing the cats, but it's certainly going to be a long row for the OP to hoe.

Definitely possible. But Ford couldn’t care less why you don’t have cats. Only that you don’t have them

There is no way to prove removing cats caused an engine failure.

I assume this is why there hasn't been an out and out denial.

"Prove" is for arbitration / court. "Plausibly allege" is what they are likely looking for to issue a denial.

Can't do it, there is no way in hell removing cats will cause a rod failure. NONE, NO WAY POSSIBLE!!!

Engines ran fine for 100 years before cats were invented, a bad cat will cause an engine failure but removing them cannot cause this.

Well, thank God for that, because if you actually read my posts instead of banging your head against the wall you would realize that I never said it would cause the failure, just that they were looking for a colorable reason to deny (likely in the hope that the OP wouldn't go any further).

Denied, as anticipated Ford warranty coverage denied due to possible tune and and exhaust modifications. Engine ordered and will install this week DIY. Thanks for all the replies. Now looking for service repair manual and swap out guidance.

Hello; For you personally a disappointment, but as you state expected. Goes along with other thread conclusions which are that to protect warranties do not modify the car for five years or 50,000 miles at least.

One note of caution. In a recent thread a member was asking for engine parts that had been thrown out too soon. Best i can recall they were cylinder head bits. Turned out to need to pull the old part off the bad heads but he had tossed them already. So keep all the old engine stuff around till the new block is finished.

IDK if you're familiar with the site above, but it has the same reference information the Ford Techs use in their maintenance activities.

If you have a Ford Owner Support account or a Ford Pass App account, it should work at the service manual site. Otherwise, you can setup an account.

Once logged in, you can purchase three days of unlimited access. With that, for the next 72 hours, you can download all the references you see.

The reference materials are not in book form, but by procedure. After entering your VIN, the documents for the car would show. You could then search for "engine replacement" or something of the sort.

3-day access is $30. Could be worth your while.
