North Carolina added 25 S650s. Fortunately NC is not VA. Generally 10+ is ok. I guess Ford is looking to fill the old Charger slot.

About 10 yrs ago traveling from NY to Fl, was about 80/81 in a 65 with morning traffic. Got popped due to NY plate. 2 weeks later I get EIGHT post cards from ambulance chasers who want to represent me in court! No thanks. Sent in guilty and paid the fine. Co-worker a yr or two later going to his daughter in NC, same thing. He got over a DOZEN post cards. So yes I no longer nspeed to fast in VA!

I saw that pace car at the Martinsville NASCAR race on TV last weekend. Damn it looked badass.

I remember taking trips down to Florida in the late 80’s and the troopers were catching speeders in Fox body LX’s.

All for show. It’ll probably never see regular duty. It might attract some young kid to be a trooper, but will be huge disappointment when they assign him his first Ford Explorer or Tahoe with 120k miles that feels like a rattle trap.

ok, ya got me here…to what are you referring?
Most police have radar that needs to be stationary when they clock your speed. Some police, including VA State, has radar that works while they're in their car moving toward or away from you..

Rather than be stationary on the road side and aim a radar gun a moving radar is vehicle mounted and can detect vehicle speed either coming or going while the LEO vehicle is moving.
It determines and compares the LEO vehicle speed to the target vehicle to determine the target vehicle speed. It can determine target vehicle speed whether the target is coming towards, going away, is in front or behind and can track multiple targets at a time.

These days, 80+ in VA will get you a reckless charge. No mailing that one in!

What's the real point here tho? You can catch most speeders in a 4-cyl Camry, and they can't outrun a radio anyway. Is this just so the po-po can have their toys at tax payer expense?

Since it's spring break I'll add to be careful in Georgia. We have a "super speeder" law that applies to residents and nonresidents. In addition to whatever fines a locality level the state adds another $200 for speeds at or exceeding 75mph on a two lane road and at or exceeding 85mph on a highway. The fine is due 120 days after receiving the ticket or they will suspend your license. I don't think that you can mail in or pay that one online.
