Because it’s a manual, the DH looks like the best choice. But be aware of what you get :
- lots of screens
- lots of animations, software, over-the-air updates, bugs, etc
- fewer buttons
- not a real hand brake
- an always connected car that will snitch on you

The Mach 1 MT is so very satisfying. If the above points do not bother you, you will be very happy with a DH MT.

I've never heard anyone say the Darkhorse was better than a gt350 in any way.
I generally only talk to people at the track or event about their cars. I can't comment on road manners.

But yes, the DH on the track or AutoX is better in pretty much every way except for exhaust note , looks, and red line is the consensus when I talk with owners who have had both.

A big part of the question is do you really love the S650’s? I’m probably about your age and the touch screen controls are a deal breaker for me.
Initially, my first impression of the S650 was that of utter disappointment when I opened the driver’s door & saw this huge screen. I knew the interior design had been altered because of the implementation of a screen dash, but I hadn’t yet seen it in person. As I approached the car for the first time, i simply did a 360 degree walk around the car; and thought what a looker! Then as I slid behind the driver’s seat, this wide ass screen is staring at me. What really bugged me was how poorly it was integrated with the dash. If they ( Ford ) were going to get crazy and push a radical new design, why not at least design the screen so that it was 50% smaller in length, and properly imbed the screen deeper into the dash. Leave the toggle switches as they were for at least the HVAC system. I have a long ownership history with Mustang. I much prefer the dash design and layout in my 2013 Boss, and my 1969 Boss Mustang. I don’t want to drive a mf screen. That’s my biggest beef with the S650. That, and that the over the top price. Sure the S650 is at way cheaper price point in the 4 cylinder version, but I wouldn’t be caught dead driving any 4 banger. The 4 cylinder has zero appeal to any true Mustang muscle car. I much prefer the dash layout in the patrol Chargers we drive. So yeah, kinda of a huge misstep by Ford IMO. I’m still digging the ‘23 Mach 1 (new ) that I located, but I don’t want to find myself regretting buying it and then giving myself an ass kicking, because it’s the automatic.

if you like driving manuals, you need to drive a manual DH or M1 to experience the difference between that manual and the manuals in your boss or the GT’s. Hard to imagine you would be happy with the automatic if you did that.

This sounds very anecdotal. No offense.

I went to see a DH in person and was shocked at the giant wheel gaps and small looking tires but I’m sensitive to wheel gaps🤓

No I was down seeing family in Wichita. It was Mel Hambleton $85;000 I think! I was hoping to get a pic of my car next to a DH But couldn’t get close.

That DH should at least have 550 hp for that price. I‘d take one, but not at that American Greed price.

What the F&#k were they thinking:

I would not buy an S650 due to this dashboard that you have to look at the entire time you are driving.... this is what you will see all of the time while trying to enjoy your new Mustang.

Exactly! If I wanted to look at two monitors I could just skip the driving and stay at my work desk.

The new interior is amazing, you don’t really get it from pics, behind the wheel is a different story… love the S650… such a bargain, I’m partial to the 10R80… this updated version is incredible

I sat in a Dark Horse and was trying not to puke in a vehicle with new car smell.

This is probably a draw for younger generations who have been raised with bigger screens are better lifestyle.

If you like it… enjoy!

Me…. Hell no.

Most horrible and laziest wheel design imaginable, that mascara under the headlights - why? Just why? And then there is dash screen... That car will age terribly.

If you want and ugly puke with lots of speed capability, just buy a new M2 or M3, at least they should be built better.

Otherwise, look at this thing of beaty M1 posted above as an example. If somebody would put these two cars side by side, I know which one I'd pick in a heartbeat.
