šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Hi. I started out looking for a low mileage pristine 2019/2020 Bullitt; the situation didn’t work out. Still looking however. My small town Ford dealership has a new 2024 Dark Horse and a new 2024 Mustang GT. The Dark Horse is being discounted to 77k CAD or just under 55k USD. The Dark Horse is a Premium, 6 sp manual, 700a package, Metallic antimatter grey, Racarros, Blue Painted Calipers. The 2024 Mustang GT comes with the performance package, manual, Vapour blue, blue painted callipers, discounted to 67k or 47k USD. Ford incentives include 4.99 leasing or financing, and $1000 discount from retail on the DH. I don’t buy cars for investment, but to drive and enjoy . However, I like to buy smart. I still own two Mustangs that I bought new; a 2014 Mustang GT with the factory track package, and a 2013 Boss 302. Both with about 6,500 miles. I also own a ā€˜69 Boss 302, in drivers concourse condition; bought it 34 years ago. I definitely I could not afford to buy it today. My thoughts are, if I can still locate a Bullitt, I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. If if can’t locate a Bullitt, then I’ll decide between the 2024 DH or the 2024 Mustang GT. I think the DH has the potential for collectibility, but by that time I’ll be fertilizer. I’m a retired cop, not a CEO with a 5 million kiss off package.
On a very salient point: this DH is one of 2, that has been sitting on this same dealership lot for 7 months. As a side note; sitting in another Ford dealership, is a brand new 2023 Mustang Mach 1, automatic, loaded, in Eruption Green. 74k CAD. No discounts. Any input/thoughts would appreciated. Cheers

Collectability = Nope. They have made thousands and as you said you'll be dead and gone so why does that even matter? Are you going to drive a car or look at it?

If this isn't a daily driver then why would you buy an automatic?
If you're not planning on FI then why automatic?
Unmolested manuals retain resale value better where I live, automatics are considerably cheaper.

Find a low mileage 2021 to 2023 Mach 1 manual with HP package and enjoy your superior interior since it uses knobs, buttons, dials, and toggles.

If you are just going to look at it and worry about mileage then buy a dark horse with whatever transmission you want.

Hey OP, what is the rush to purchase?
I know you want a Bullitt/DH/Boss, but if you aren't finding what you want, why settle for something when time (and values dropping over time) is on your side?
Patience is a virtue. You already have the 69 Boss that most of us here drool over anyway!
I would hate to see you settle for something good enough and then try to force yourself to be happy with it rather than continuing the long annoying wait and ultimately ending up with your exact gem you wanted.

Not to get too far off track here, but OP, please share some detailed interior, exterior and engine bay pics with us of your two Boss 302 cars.

Totally agree with you. Manual all the way. As are all my Mustangs are manual. Not planning on looking at it; now that I’ll have time, plenty of time to drive it. Something that wasn’t option when I was working rotating 12 hour shifts ( RCMP )

Any plans to heavily modify the Bullitt, GT, DH (if you get on of these), or your 2013 Boss? If so, that’ll eat up a considerable amount of time and money getting them set up to your liking? I can’t believe how far I’ve gone and where I’m about to go with my Bullitt.

Get the Mach 1 so you won't have regrets.

At least in AutoX the DH is a fantastic car. I've been told on track, they are better than the 350R as well from a few guys who have driven both.

Just cruising around? I'd probably go M1 though. The DH looks aren't my cup of tea, just personal preference.

But I also wouldn't even consider an auto.

Congrats on your retirement!

Buy the car which you can comfortably afford and gives you the most joy when you see and drive it.

The Mach 1 would be my choice but not as an auto and all depending on its options since I'm not a fan of the S650.

My only advise to you if you haven't already ... try to find a GT350/Mach 1 manual with the Tremec so you can feel the difference with a Bullit. It may change your mind, idk.

No, I’m a purist. It’s all good to modify. Just not my thing.
On the new ā€˜23 Mach I located, it’s an automatic. A loaded car, but why anyone would spec it with auto, I’ve no idea.

Nothing wrong at all with keeping them in factory condition. You will certainly save a lot of money by not doing so.

The DH is the pick of the litter - manual and a great price.

A big part of the question is do you really love the S650’s? I’m probably about your age and the touch screen controls are a deal breaker for me.

I've never heard anyone say the Darkhorse was better than a gt350 in any way.
