It is indeed one of the loudest stock exhausts I've heard. I didn't like the stock exhaust on the Corvette BTW.

PS: My VIN Number is very similar to yours, just a different order. M5590 :sunglasses:
...Hmmmm. Your #5590 was my employee number for 30 years where I worked.
Been great if I could have bought that number car...................

What size piping is on that? 2.25" or 2.5"?
2.75” I cut and welded the stock 2.5” connection on to the GT 350 resonator.

Yes. Lol. I'm considering the Ford Mach 1 Axle back kit for my GT.

The stock GT resonator was just two straight through pipes with internal perforations, zero restriction. I'd assume the M1 resonator is the same one.

I'll probably just end up running headers through the stock system then. No plans for extreme power anywhere down the road.
Not sure how much difference it makes in reality, but I posted this on another thread :

Standard GT resonator does a similar thing :
  • Standard pipe diameter = 2.5"
  • Diameter at front manifold clamps = 2.25" (same for standard resonator and resonator deletes).
  • Diameter at resonator outlet joint = 2.00" (removed with resonator delete).

Does anyone know if the stock Mach1 resonator fits the 2022 Mustang GT with active exhaust? The Mach1 sounds so much throatier. I don’t want to go with resonator delete because it’s too raspy.

AI overview from google says no but maybe someone that has tried it will answer.

I believe the M1 and GT resonators are the same ? :like:

I believe the resonators are are the same between the GT and the Mach. The mufflers are different though, which is probably what you are hearing.

An H-pipe resonator delete is not as raspy as an X-pipe delete. On my GT I used an H-pipe and LTH Scorpion axle-backs and was very happy with the sound:

If you are talking about C8 Vette, I'm TOTALLY with you! It sounds like a toy echo chamber. I gently mentioned to my neighbor that he could get a throaty sound with an aftermarket pipe. It didn't take long before he got a Corsa aftermarket system. It sounds much better, and wow, he'll never be able to slip out of the neighborhood under the radar.

Definitely louder simply due to active exhaust. However, not loud enough. I put a Steeda x pipe on mine but still want more in track mode. My 16 GTPP had no mufflers and no resonator and that was awesome.
