Steeda H-pipe on the Mach 1

we (forum) castigated Steeda a couple years ago for their total junk clamps. They supposedly revised that SKU (or now charge extra) for items you can get from Amazon.

pity you didn't take sound measurements before and after.

Clamps suck. Bought one on Amazon to try to fix the hanging driver side . Helped a bit but still uneven

A resonator delete and an h or x pipe is the same thing. the h or x pipe goes where the resonator is now.

Don’t use the steeda pipe if you want to return to stock in the future though.
You won’t be able to simple clamp the resonator back on as it will need to be welded.
The cut is right on a bend and a clamp won’t seal

I purchased a longer h pipe for this reason it can easily be changed around

The Steeda H-Pipe can both be welded & clamped - either with the kit components or the upgraded clamps:

Problem I had was one side bends down and the clamp would not seal the joint.

Has anyone experienced the same? After installing an H-pipe, and after about a week, on the same route, at the same speed, under identical conditions, it feels like the car drives better. I don’t have an ECU tune. Everything is stock and it seems like the 10R80 transmission is working much smoother. Nothing was reset, and the battery wasn’t disconnected. Is this just a coincidence, or is there a way to explain it?

Or maybe the exhaust sound just makes me feel like the car drives better and masks those little imperfections

Not because of the H pipe but i have had this since day one of ownership.

one day will feel a bit off or sluggish and the next day it’s super smooth and pulls hard. I’ve never been able to locate the reasons to it, so it’s a 50/50 each time I start the car if it runs great or just ok
