17 pages later and the car is still as ugly as it was on the first page.

As an existing '19 350 owner, this car is a pretty big let down. The 15-20 GT350 and the 20-22 GT500 were special cars; VooDoo and DCT respectively. Both the VooDoo and the DCT were designed and build by Ford. No company had those on the shelf and Ford used them. This new 350 is a bolt on car I can 85% build myself for less. These cars should be rare and special.

To me a company like Shelby doesn't have the R&D budget of Ford and can't come up with a truly special car. I'll keep my '19 for 1/2 the price.
What you say it totally true. I'm guessing these cars will be bought by the Shelby faithful who want that CSM certificate. Also maybe those that want a new car and not a used 350/500. There aren't enough being built to worry about it. I'm sure everyone will be sold.

This debate's not making any sense to me. The way I see it, if someone's got the resources to decide between a GTD and a GT2RS, then they'll make a decision and get a car they'll be happy with. If someone has a '65 Shelby GT350 already and they want a new one to park beside it, they'll buy a new 2025 GT350 from Shelby. Neither of those buyers would be remotely interested in a 2015-2020 FP GT350/R or a Mustang GT. Totally different buyer groups dealing with totally different value propositions.

The R with the cage looks interesting.

I've had a ton of Mustangs, from Fox bodies to Terminator Cobras. Mostly modified/supercharged etc. If you click on my username you can see my profile has a my current car, a 2011 Mustang GT listed.

I would never, even spend $109,000 on Mustang, especially a $45k GT with $15k worth of bolt-ons. I'm not a doofus willing to overpay for the Shelby name. (Shelby of America, not a Ford-produced Shelby that would be worth it)

Why would anyone buy one of those when you could get a low mileage S550 for less?

But either way, that means I can't say it's a ripoff? Okay buddy.

There's a common theme in all the Shelby American car threads. Go back and look at the Supersnake threads from a few years ago.

The majority of people are wondering why people buy a $100k package that has maybe $30,000 in actual parts

A few people herald the car as amazing

A few people talk about the Shelby "exclusivity" etc

Is it weird that the GT350/GT350R built by Ford seems more special then the GT350/GT350R built by Shelby?
It may be ironic, but all the 21st century GT500s were like that, too.
They were SVT products, and Carroll Shelby's contribution was to allow the use of his name.

What compares?? a GT2RS for 600k 🤷
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you suggesting that the new "R" version of this SA gt350 is going to be comparable to a gt2rs?

The 400k mustang GTD isn't quite up to snuff compared to the gt2rs, I really doubt this SA offering will be even close to a match for the GTD.

I thought I’d wait until page 18 to say this. Why is this thread on 6G in the first place? It’s an S650. The mods should move it over to the other website where it belongs.
